March 31, 200719 yr I heard yet another rumor tonight that was supposedly from a reliable source. That rumor was that our new coach would be Billy Donovan and his assistant would be John Pelphrey. Who knows...
March 31, 200719 yr Does Billy D bring with him, his in comming freshman class?? No. There is one player that has said he would follow Billy, but that would require Florida releasing him from his LOI with no restrictions. Possible, but not very likely. I have to imagine he'd land Patterson though. 2 of his final 3 choices rolled into one. Only Coach K to Florida would change things.
March 31, 200719 yr The school has to let them and normally they do. But it is doubtful that Flordia would let any recruits out to go to UK or any other SEC school.
March 31, 200719 yr So can they let them out of the LOI but prohibit them from going to a certain school, I.E. UK?
March 31, 200719 yr You want Billy Donovan updates? Saturday, 9 a.m. ... breakfast, scrambled eggs and toast and orange juice (he is at Florida, after all) 10 a.m. ... fields call from Mitch Barnhart, asks if sunshine and an average high of 65 during basketball season can be written in his contract
March 31, 200719 yr So can they let them out of the LOI but prohibit them from going to a certain school, I.E. UK? Yes, they can put restrictions on where they are allowed to go.
March 31, 200719 yr BD is a hot commodity right now. He is never going to be hotter. If he were to ever leave Florida, nows the time, cause he has nowhere to go but down...With that said, if he's content and happy where he's at, he could still turn it down...He'll be well compensated either way...
March 31, 200719 yr This just in! Billy Donovan is in Atlanta and getting his team ready for the final 4. NOTHING else to report but all of these ridiculous rumor threads. Imo it is obvious that no announmcement will be made untill sometime after Monday. Lets all take a poll and start a BGP contest on how many new Billy D threads wil pop up before then.
