March 17, 200719 yr Fun game, but those announcers can't get over Edgar Sosa. I mean, he played a heck of a game (although he did blow it at the end twice), but I guess being a freshmen AND from New York City makes him the reincarcation of Bob Cousy.

March 17, 200719 yr The 'Ville is going to be a serious threat next year. They had a very good season this year, but I'm not ready to say they overachieved. This was about what I had expected before the season started. Acie Law IV is a stud. He's got to be a lottery pick. He has some sick handle....

The announcers weren't the only one excited about Sosa. The kid can play, and is going to be a great, great player by the time he's done wearing Cardinal red. The kid didn't blow anything. If it weren't for him the Cards wouldn't have even been in the game.
March 17, 200719 yr Very entertaining game to watch, wish UL could have pulled it out. The Sosa kid is fun to watch. The dude has heart.
March 17, 200719 yr Really disappointed in the officiating today. Refs called way too many fouls in this game, both ways, and it really affected how it was played. Sosa played great, but if AM would have just played off of him when he drove in he wouldn't have had near the game that he did. He was bailed out by fouls several times when he had no chance to make a play. Kind of ridiculous that UL's 3rd string center had 4 fouls at the end of the game, the refs should have let the big guys play a lot more. AM's last 10 points came from the FT line, which says a lot about how it was officiated. Excellent game to watch if you're a fan, but I hated to see the Ville go down. One things for sure though, they're are gonna be scary good next year if everyone sticks around. I was happy they finally called some fouls this week.

And I would agree that the way they talk about Durant is annoying. I am criticizing the announcers, not Sosa. He played a great game.

I can agree that he kept them in the game, but after hitting 15 straight missing those 2 seemed like a letdown, and the final shot was poor selection. But it shouldn't damper his incredible performance.
March 17, 200719 yr Louisville was really gutty today, but in the end they had to rely on Sosa just too much. He really didn't get much help, T-Will just didn't play good. I though Smith and Clark had a couple of good minutes, but Jenkins was shaky and all the big guys were in trouble. Palacios just isn't recovered. On the other side, Law was good, but Jones and Kirk were also awesome in support, and I thought Pantera (sp?) got some really key offesnive rebounds. Not mentioned yet is what a great job Pitino did coaching. Contstant substitutions to try different combos on the floor, timeouts at really quality moments, second half adjustments to counter the lane-drive. In December this year, Terry Meiners was laughing on WHAS about how bad the Cards were, and here they were a legitimate Sweet-16 threat. Pitino squeezes every last drop of chemistry out of these guys. You bet they overachieved. I'm looking forward to next year already.

March 18, 200719 yr Carter and Kavilaskus didn't play to their normal level in this one so both teams had others step up. And I still can't believe Farley has gotten to the point he can have a big role in a game of this magnitude. He's miles and miles better than he was 3 years ago this weekend...

And I still can't believe Farley has gotten to the point he can have a big role in a game of this magnitude. He's miles and miles better than he was 3 years ago this weekend... Practically took himself out of the game with 4 fouls in a 4 minute span in the second half.
