March 18, 200719 yr Practically took himself out of the game with 4 fouls in a 4 minute span in the second half. Carter had 4 fouls very early as well. That's part of the point. A&M and UL both had key reserves play a large role and do it well...
March 18, 200719 yr How many foul shots did Sosa shoot tonight? I know Deuce talked about how Morris got to shoot way to many free throws yesterday...:sssh: Ok well sorry, just had to get that out. But as for the game, it was a great game, and Sosa played a GREAT game. It is going to be fun watching him and Meeks for UK play over the next couple of years. I know I was actually hoping UL would pull it out, I like seeing all teams from Ky do good in the tournament...UL definitely will be one of the top teams next year...

March 18, 200719 yr I think the optimum timing in this situation is to shoot the ball with enough time to get an offensive stick back. That would be with a couple of seconds left. That was exactly what happened...if Farley could grabbed that ball he would've had about 3 seconds to get it in or get fouled.
March 18, 200719 yr Sosa took the shot with 6 seconds on the clock. More than enough time given the situation...
March 18, 200719 yr Sosa took the shot with 6 seconds on the clock. More than enough time given the situation... :thumb: I'm not mad at Sosa at all for taking the shot...He had been hot, he knew his team needed a big play, so he took it in his own hands...An offensive rebound and a put back, and we wouldn't be talking about Sosa's shot...
March 18, 200719 yr Sosa had a great game. If he hit the shot we would be talking about what a huge shot it was. But I dont see why he didnt go to the rack. They were putting him on the ft line EVERY time he went. But hindsight is 20/20. As for UL they really improved a ton as the season progressed and thats all you can really ask for. Texas AM is a very good team and not a loss to be ashamed of. Next year I believe they are atleast a top 10 team. They will be very good!

March 18, 200719 yr Sosa is going to be a bear, he really had his coming out party late in the season. I really thout UL would win once they grabbed the momentum but A&M didn't go from 0-16 in conference to where they are today by giving up. Great game by both teams, I really wished I would have purchased tickets for these 6 games.
March 18, 200719 yr I really thought they would at least try to get 2 for 1 late in the game but sometimes you've just gotta ride the hot hand. Padgett didn't do much on offense but you can expect that when your tail is on the pine but he made some very good defensive plays down the stretch.
March 18, 200719 yr Tip of the cap to Pitino and the Cards. He and the Cards turned their season when it looked like it was going to be a carbon copy of last year. The freshman matured, especially Sosa, who played a spectacular game today. They should defintely be a top 10 team next season. They couldn't get anything going in the post today and had some great breakdowns on the boards. In addition Terrance Williams took too many shots for them. How about those Aggies. Tough. Playing as a 3 seed in a very hostile environment, which was essentially a road game for the Aggies, and pulled one out. They got steady play from Law IV, whose father looked like Snoop Dogg's stunt double, who was money at the foul line. A&M got key play from some of their role players especially when one of the best three point shooters(Carter) in the nation was saddled with foul trouble. Texas A&M heads to San Antonio, which should be a lot friendlier than Lexington was to them.
March 18, 200719 yr No shame in losing to A&M, they are a very tough team. The dunk by TWill was spectacular. Will Gillespie be back in College Station next year???

March 18, 200719 yr Amazing effort and intensity by both squads. Law IV = Best PG in America... He's the reason I picked them to go all the way ...
