I consider myself a friend of Scott Chalk and have known him for atleast the last 10-12 years. This man has never been concerned about what the people in the stands think. He doesn't go with what is popular. He puts the best product on the court every night. Now that producted is determined in practice not at someones house.

 

I would take Chalk back in a minute at FHS. He built that program just like he has rebuilt the program at FCHS. High school sports would be great if parents would sit back and enjoy their kids.

This is the most ridiculous post I have read on here in a while. I am not sure what your angle is, but I know the FC coaches don't play favorites. Chalk never has. I am not sure what you think the best product is, but the team on the floor as FHS was making their run was FC's best. Hicks, Hicks, Meyer, Hines and Ammons were the group in when FHS started making their run, the FCHS starting line-up. Coaching can get you so far, but eventually the players have to play. Down the stretch the FC players turned it over in ridiculous ways, and one of their top defenders got ran out on several times.

 

Finally give FHS some credit. EJ Fields played a whale of a game, and Jouett hit some huge shots, that he doesn't typically make. Your post sounds like a parent whose kid is not getting as much time as you would like. Support your program, it is on the rise. This was a bump along the way. Don't forget, that just 4 years ago FCHS was 2-24 at the beginning of a massive rebuilding project. And next year the Flyers return 2 or their top 3 scorers, some other solid sophomores, and a Freshmen class that just won the 11th region title. The future looks bright.

I give FHS coaching staff and those players a great deal of credit, I wish I could give ours the same, but I cannot, You are right, I am a parent that is Word Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter ViolationWord Filter Violationed, and you should know exactly why if you are ever at a game. FHS will always be the toughest at this time of year, they all play football, we didn't respect them, and got what we deserve. Our coaching staff will not change, maybe a gigantic ego or something, maybe I am listening to too many coaches in the stands. I do know one thing, a leopard never changes its spots. Maybe we will win the district one of these years, it hasn't been due to lack of talent that we've not won the past three years.

Sorry, I do apoligize if what you may have seen over the course of the season does not bother you, I would only hope that you could be more sensitive to others conditions that seem to persist at FC, stand approval, I mean looking into the stands to see who needs to play or not to play. We coulda and shoulda won the game, but you got to coach to win, and that didn't happen. not surprising, its happened before. This is the mighty 11th, you got to put the best product on the floor as much as you can to have a chance. But for 15 seconds the overall complexion of what was on the floor wasn't looking right and it quickly changed. We still have a quota here at FC. You never know what that line-up might have done. We may come out of the dark ages, but I truly doubt it.

Who is he listening to in the stands? I have been around Frankfort a long time and enjoy keeping up with the local teams and their players.

1) Who on the team should he have played?

2) How many times did you Scout FHS?

3) How many times have you been to practice and watched everyone perform?

 

When chalk was at FHS I didn't alwasy agree with how he was doing things. BUT that didn't mean my way was the right way. Didn't mean Chalk can't coach? Just meant his philospy may have been different.

 

Sitting in the stands it is always easy to say i would have done this and played little Johhny. because when Little Johnny played at the YMCA he could shoot. Or I would run this play because when Duke runs it it is always a dunk.

 

Well the truth of it is FHS just might have wanted to win more than the young men wearing the FCHS uniforms.??????

I agree with you rojas4, this was probably a misprint, the post must have been refering to District Title. I don't think Franklin County ever has won an 11th regional Title and they never will. Don't you agree?

Good job Coach Juan Byars and Frankfort. It's great to see a former Paris Greyhound do well after a rough season.

When they had David Evans and Roni Robinson they were really tough - and had a chance to make a run at the region.

If I'm not wrong Franklin Co. has won the 11th region three times. They won it in '67, '80 and I think in '95. Gary Moore had a great program at Franklin Co. He's gotta be the best coach ever over there. I don't even think they have won a district title since he quit let alone the region. His teams played very hard. the mentality there now is very soft.

That's because Franklin County has ALWAYS thought they were the best team in the district, just because they were Franklin County...Frankfort High isn't supposed to beat County, in ANYTHING....Definitley the most arrogant bunch (now, and in the past) in the 41st, IMO.
