That's because Franklin County has ALWAYS thought they were the best team in the district, just because they were Franklin County...Frankfort High isn't supposed to beat County, in ANYTHING....Definitley the most arrogant bunch (now, and in the past) in the 41st, IMO.

 

There is nothing wrong with thinking your the best. There is nothing wrong in teaching kids a they should lose to certain teams. That is what developes cofidence.

If I'm not wrong Franklin Co. has won the 11th region three times. They won it in '67, '80 and I think in '95. Gary Moore had a great program at Franklin Co. He's gotta be the best coach ever over there. I don't even think they have won a district title since he quit let alone the region. His teams played very hard. the mentality there now is very soft.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head BigB. The program is soft. They have a group of Freshman and Sophomores that are extremely soft and have not really been tested in any real tough basketball competition.

This is probably another true statement. The rivalry does have alot of History. Probably not a bad thing as it keeps things interesting. Don't think the others in the 41st have anything to worry about the next few years from FC. As BigB mentioned in another post, the mentality of the players that will be in their program the next few years is extremly soft.

 

Frankfort did play hard Tuesday and executed very well. They deserved to win. Good luck Friday!!!!!

Coach Lee was the coach of the team that went to the state tournament in 1980.

 

As a kid I remember there was a time when Franklin Co was ranked #1 in the State and Frankfort High was ranked #3. Then they built Western Hills and the rest is history.

I know nothing other than a few kids on the B-ball team, they seem okay to me, most teenage athletes are arrogant to some extent. I do think that the FCHS fans could learn something from the classy fans and parents at FHS.:thumb:

I bet Coach Foley wishes he had these fans on his side. I can remember at the Fhs vs/ Fchs football game, the tables were turned. A tailback was walking around the field and cursing at his coach from the sidelines; the fans were cursing at him from the bleachers, etc. Sounds like Byars has a different set of parents.

I will have to say that I'm sure the TB wasn't cussing his coaches.....may have been cussing someone but knowing those coaches, I know that they would not put up with being cusses by a player.

Anyways, back to basketball. I must say that Coach Byars has done a wonderful job and by almost winning the district, I am sure he will be looking for a better job come next season.

 

Maybe you guys can get Norman to come back. Woodford, Franklin and WH loved that guy.

You might want to attend an FHS practice before you speak about their discpline.

Byars might be looking for a job not because he is looking for a better school. Ths frankfort district is having money issues.

 

Not sure why those schools loved Norman. I remember him winning the district while he was the Head Caoch a Frankfort.

It must have been a tough year for Coach Byars, teaching in one town and driving to Frankfort to conduct practices etc. He has done what he had to do to get a shot at coaching in Ky. I doubt if he was expected to do as well as he has done, he has done a great job at motivating the players that he has. He has also lost a couple that could have helped him. With his style and knowledge of the game I can only hope that he, as a young coach, will get his shot at a larger school that can reload with talent year in and out. He will do well if given a chance, thanks FHS. But he coaches like he really likes FHS. Good Luck in the regionals.

Hope Byars sticks around they should be better next season after he gets a summer with these kids.
