Would you take calls if you were in Tubby's spot?

Well I am not saying you are wrong in all these rumors you keep hearing that you are posting on here, because I dont know if they are true or not. But I would wait to post EVERY little thing you hear until actually atleast one of them end up being true. Because you have thrown out alot of stuff that you have "heard" in the last couple of days, but not a one of them has been proven true. Im just trying to say you might not want to keep posting all this stuff, until atleast one of the things you been hearing is true...

Tubby doesn't produce the show.

Someone probably put this together for him, the setup that is.

Was it the best idea in hindsight...no.

It is the fans show and they deserve to get on there. They could have screened various callers if they wanted. I think someone took it on themselves to make it an easy night for the Tubster.

At least he was there, some coaches have skipped out on their shows and sent replacements.

Unless I am losing my mind. I don't remember throwing any rumors out? I just looked thru my post of the last couple weeks and didn't see any "rumors" I personally threw out.

The only rumor being the one in this thread. That hardly classifies as a lot of stuff.

 

To be fair I was told this at the beginning of the season and just now mentioned it. The only reason I did was to give some claim to what SSF said. To let him know that he wasn't alone in what he was told.

Really to be honest it probably is a fairly easy rumor to prove true. Most AD's want something done in cases like UK last year. If the coach doesn't do it. The coach knows it would fall back on him.

I really hope Tubby does leave. Not because I don't want him as a coach. Only to get away from all of the garbage he has to put up with here. Whoever follows Tubby, whenever that may happen I hope he is treated better by a delusional and overbearing fan base.

I agree. Watching and following UK is no longer fun to do and it has about 5% to do with Tubby. The fans have created an atmosphere that is not fun. I wouldn't mind that they get their way and have another coach come in and struggle for another 2 years when they turn on him and then go through 3-4 years of this stuff they did to Tubby.

 

The way these fans act, it would be fitting that UK never wins another championship.

This would be great but I don't see that ever happening no matter who is coaching, it just goes along with the U.K. job. You are 100%correct in that Tubby does not deserve all the rude, inconsiderate trash he has taken. If someone wants to questioin his coaching and/or recruiting abilities that is fine. They have right but all of this continous trashing of the man from all angles is just crazy. I am sure that some remember and felt for Saul when he played at U.K. for Tubby, the garbage he had to hear and put up with was brutal. Away games were rough crowds on him but the home crowds and talk was worse. That kid had to have unbelievable thick skin, imo it showed what kind of class that he was made of...............the same class act as his father.

I don't hate Tubby. I don't know why when someone says something about him leaving, many on this board start bashing because we mentioned it. I think Tubby needs to go, but I think Tubby is one of the best people around.

 

On a sad note, what if the rumor about Smith being gone if he doesn't make the Elite 8 is true and the players know about it... what if they intentionally blew the game to see Smith lose his job. I think that would be the worst thing that could happen and I would take everyone that "blew" the game and take their scholarships away from them. Can you imagine the feeling Tubby would have.. standing there knowing that his team is losing the game on purpose?

 

I seriously doubt that would happen, but they wouldn't have to tank it to blow a game...they could just play their normal game...that would be more than enough to assure they wouldn't make it to the Elite 8.

I don't think Tubby was the most popular choice with some fans when he was hired. For that group anything he did was going to be unacceptable.

 

Thats why I hope he does leave and give the you're #1 sign on the way out. I know he won't do that either. But I wish he would.

One more thing, I didn't tune into much of then call in show but I did hear it when Cameron Mills called in, he made some very good points and was all class.

He actually told Shepherd that 19 wins is pretty good.
