Rickyp Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Did anyone listen to the show tonight? To recap, they took 2 calls from fans and 4 from former players (Padgett, Mills, Shepherd, and Kenny Walker). When the Cat's Pause Hotline came on they actually made it a point to tell everyone they would be taking calls from the fans. They went on to make fun of Tubby's show. I think this is a sign that the end has come.
SouthernSportsFan Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 The former players were trying to boost Tubby Smith, whether that is needed or not, the weather looks stormy for Orlando.
Rickyp Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 He actually told Shepherd that 19 wins is pretty good.
RowdyRedRam Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Certianly doesn't look good, and could in fact be a bigger issue than the current play on the court.
Log Mountain Boy Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 This is typical. People are blowing things out of proportion.

SouthernSportsFan Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I think people want things blown out of proportion. They want to hear some positive news, that is if they want a new coach. Whether the D'antoni rumor has any fact at all or not, people like to hear something like that. I'm not bringing it up, only do dissapoint people later. I'm just the messenger... bringing what I've read/heard.
MSUEagles Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 He actually told Shepherd that 19 wins is pretty good. Shepherd is really not the person to tell this to. He probably averaged 28 wins a season during his career.
SouthernSportsFan Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Speculation is that Smith may be in Memphis next season as part of the Grizzlies Organization... again, pure speculation and rumor.

FBALL Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I really hope Tubby does leave. Not because I don't want him as a coach. Only to get away from all of the garbage he has to put up with here. Whoever follows Tubby, whenever that may happen I hope he is treated better by a delusional and overbearing fan base.

SouthernSportsFan Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Speculation, MSU. I've heard that a couple of times from different boards. Of course, you can never believe what the boards have to say, so I don't know if there is a sliver of credibility in it. Also, apparently Tubby has to get to the Elite 8 this season to stay intact for the job. Sources say that Barnhardt asked Tubby for staff changes last year, Tubby refused, and Barnhardt left it on Tubby's shoulders this year if things didn't turn around. Whether that is true or not, I have no idea. I'm not bringing this information for people to bet money on, just what I'm "hearing."
