That is OH football for you; unbelievable depth.

Can you imagine a team from KY having 13 DI players and not winning the the DII (AAA equivolent) State Championship?????

DIII is the equivalent of AAA in Ky......

Oh no, I hope this isn't another Colerain mess.

No way, with their 6 D1's and HHS's 7 or 8 D1 prospects, this would be an awesome game. Can't wait till Tuesday.

I wonder how many Super Sophmores will start for Highlands this coming year. Most of their schedule will allow Dale to exploit the young talent but when he plays these giants from Ohio I sorta see a slight disadvantage of 15 yr olds competing against 19 yr old men. Maybe he will play Trotwood and call it Senior night. Can't wait till Tuesday.

Has Highlands ever had 7 Div I signees????

Who cares, go with the flow. If your a Highlands guy and you don't believe you are D1 then you are doomed from the get go considering there schedule every year. Nothing wrong with maybe being mis-quoted and not following up in the corrections column in the next days paper. :thumb:

I just try to be realistic; sounds like we have just a different way of looking at things.

Considering HHS coaching the effort their players put forth in the off season and in season, they could very well win the game.

I just don't believe they have 7 DI signees and Trotwood will be more talented, but I do understand Dale's motivation in saying this.

While your point is valid, I'm guessing very few, if any , Trotwood players will be 19 this early in the season. I'm also guessing that HHS, like every other school, will have SOPHS closer to 16 than 15. So, we're really talking 16 vs 18 which is still a big difference.

Never in my life did I think that Highlands would every be in a dangerous situation until I witnessed the Colerain game a few years ago. I for one did not enjoy some of the hits in that game and I know some other folks on this site who had sons on that HHS team that would agree. Especially the Soph parents.

That is an excellent point that very few from Ft. Thomas would ever be willing to acknowledge (those without sons on the team).

I had a son on the field against Colerain, and him getting hurt didn't cross my mind. No disrespect to Sweep, but I don't think the hits were any more ferocious than any other game. Hudy got his bell rung by a hard hit, but that's the only one I can remember. I also have a son who will be a sophomore on this year's team (and hopefully will be able to get some playing time) and I'm not the least bit concerned about him having to play Trotwood or Colerain for that matter from an injury standpoint. So I guess I'm one that isn't willing to acknowledge it (and I do have a son on the team).

You don't think the hits Colerain laid on the Birds were any harder?

It's simple physics: greater size + greater speed= harder hits.

The Birds are awesome indeed and do a wonderful job, but they couldn't match up with those athletes.

LN doesn't have to worry about that because of his kids' size.

Sweeperboy on the other hand...:D

AT the end of the day, its just football. Technique and awareness can help you avert injury many times. The Birds will be disciplined in these areas and I am quite sure they have no fear of anyone on their schedule. They will be rolling out their own Ice Cream truck this year.

Very true; some kids could withstand and matchup to the increase in athletic ability; others could not.
