Best Private Course in the State

Idle Hour is awful nice too, but I think LCC is a better course overall.

Nicer than Champion Trace? I've heard an awful lot of good things about that place.

I think it is better than Champions. No houses to hit around at Idle Hour and it was redesigned two summer ago. New tees and some new greens.

I think Valhalla has to be one but I've heard Persimian Ridge was as good from some folks in Louisville. Personally I have no idea. Has anybody played Cardinal Club in Shelbyville?

Heard good things about CC from my friend that played there last year.

I look to get on Persimmon Ridge and CC this summer. My new job should help me out in getting on there.

I can't stand Persimmon Ridge! The greens are absolutely ridiculous!!! This is the only course I've ever played that I had to lay up on a putt!

The first time I played it...I shot almost what my fee was to play it...and the fee was GULP...$120.00. Had a headache all night. Even the ball spotters were waiting in the woods when I teed off because they knew my ball was headed that direction. EMBARRASSING.

So you paid a dollar for each stroke. Sounds like you got your money's worth.:D

BTW, Mr. B and Little Robbie are waiting for you at the Sag. Seems they have a score to settle over a match last year at Crooked Creek that you bragged about on BGP.

Man, I had a job opportunity in Eastwood, KY and didn't know for sure where it was...I passed on it and later found out it was half way between Valhalla & Polo Fields...LOL...that would have been Sweeeeeeeetttttttt!

That's funny right there I don't care who you are!

1. Valhalla

2. Old Stone (BG)

3. Triple Crown (NKY)

4. Paducah CC

Boucher, have you played Olde Stone?

Not yet. I've been on it, but not playing. I've got several friends who've played it, and I'm supposed to be playing it sometime this spring. Some report it is as nice (or nicer) than Valhalla. It is a dandy.

Be prepared to shell out the big bucks to play this course!! My father just built on the tie off of the 9th hole and even as a quest of a member the fees are pretty hefty!!

Dad played golf for the Univ of Illinois back in the day and he says this is one of the hardest courses he's ever golfed.

I love Traditions. Triple Crown is nice. A course that hasn't been mentioned that for some reason I really like is Hurstbourne CC in Louisville.

Of course, I'm also contractually obligated to mention that I'm a big fan of Maysville CC. :D

Not sure if Maysville CC is one of the best privates in the state, but it is definitely one of the most interesting!

I have heard that as well. I believe they are trying to get a tour stop out there as well. I've heard great things about it, hard to believe a course could come right in and be "better" than Valhalla.
