End of South 42

BG 17

2 years in a row terrible effort vs South Warren. This isn't a great South team and BG has no answer or fight. The defense has to have a complete change.

  • Indeed they were. Granted it was around 6-7 min left, the bigger issue is they didn't get off the field at all (literally). Just not a set up for success. Going in to the game asking your offense to s

South Warren will make it harder to score for BG, but they will have a much easier time trying to get stops. BG 28 SW 27 Blocked PAT is the difference.

49-17 South.

36 unanswered points. Pathetic.

Well, I'm trying to find upsides for the Purples and what I got so far is that the schedule lightens tremendously after this (outside of CAL). They'll have some time to try to figure themselves out before the playoffs and get some wins under their belt. Other than that...yikes.

Definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Nothing changes with this defense

BG defense is as low as they have been in 20 years. Not sure how (or if) it can be fixed. Refer back to the definition of insanity....

It is quite jarring for me to see Bowling Green give up 100 points in the span of two games. They've only allowed 49+ points 17 times in program history and they just had it happen on back to back Fridays at home. The good news is other than CAL, I don't see another team on their schedule beating them until at least the second round of playoffs - maybe third. But this is decidedly unlike your typical Bowling Green defense. They've had multiple seasons where they didn't allow 100 total points.

Is anybody really surprised by this?

It looks as if the offense didn't score after the 1st quarter. Was it just a meltdown after the half?

No, not me.

South changed their defense and BG couldn't score after that.

I don't think Barren will beat BG next week but I'm telling you the Trojans can score I expect this to be a closer game than most.

I think they can win.

You can't throw this much better than Camden Page did. Right in the bucket. 🪣

Does this outcome say more about SW or BG?
