Silly, but quite a few have two mouthpieces. One to wear and one to hang. When you see one hanging, usually there is a second in their mouth. Don't ask me why that became the cool thing to do. To me, it just draws unnecessary attention to yourself.

I never liked the mouthpiece that hooked onto the face mask. If the helmet gets ripped off, it could cause damage to the teeth or even remove some teeth, most likely to occur when the helmet is removed by the facemask backwards.

I agree on the hanging mouthpiece. I say detach them from the helmet and you either have it in your mouth or you don't have mouthpiece.

@TheConfluence , I know you are new around here 🤣.... I took a picture of G a few years ago at BGP Headquarters! This is pretty much his set up every Friday Night.

  • Looking through the photos two things jumped out at me. The NKY officials clearly are not enforcing the knee pad rule and Boyle County holds a lot.

That is not true. 1995, Dennis Johnson of Harrodsburg HS was ejected against Paris HS. He played the following week. I was the HFC at Paris the night he was ejected.

The poll is currently 47-33 Rebels.

Any chance that could be the final score?

Any ref that doesn't enforce it should be suspended.

If the officials were to enforce 100% of the rulebook 100% of the time, games would last 7 hours and it would be unwatchable. To insist that uniform enforcement is a lack of integrity is putting pressure on people who are basically poorly paid volunteers.

How important is this game to win for Highlands with this being a potential rematch in the playoffs? Does Highland show their total offense or do they save something for a later date ?

Why would a team not run their full offense in a game? That comment has never made any sense to me.

Formations that are not normal part of your offense that a team may see would benefit them if not practiced for. Special play for two point conversion.

I remembered Dale Mueller back in 2009 did not run a quarterback draw with Will Bardo at quarterback all the way up until the St X. Game. He saved that play for that special game and he had two long runs that contributed to Highland scoring.

OK. I could see holding back certain situational plays like a two point conversion play. But if plays aren't working, I would rather keep going deeper into the playbook and find success during the regular season game than take a loss holding back plays that you think might work. I wouldn't want to find out in the playoff game that those plays don't work. Then it is too late.

There's another way of looking at it. You can throw in an odd play or formation early in the season and force teams to prep for it even if you never use it again. Or, you could always run the same play over and over off of that set but have an alternate play that you save until you need it in a playoff game. I've always thought that every running back on the team needs to practice passing the ball. Let the ones who get pretty good at it try it in a game, especially early in the season. Then, your opponents will have to spend time getting ready to defend it whether you choose to use it or not.

I watched the first half of the Boyle/LexCath game on HudlFan. And I have seen Driver play several times. I know you can't hear, but it's clear in the first penalty, he turns back to the LexCath sideline, and it's safe to assume it wasn't to tell them, "Peace unto your spirit."

Several times in the first half, he is sent off for what looks like blood on his elbow, and his body language and gestures clearly don't convey a lot of respect for the authority figures. Finally, right after a play, an official approaches him to send him off (Haddix says for a mouthpiece) and the flag comes immediately. That tells me it was one of the no-no words and likely fast and loud.

I've seen several other clips in other games of him being pretty demonstrative and playing fast and loose with the rules. I will be very surprised if the suspension gets overturned. But, KHSAA is full of surprises.

If, by some chance of the imagination, the overruling were to occur, when would that happen? We're almost 48 hours before kickoff. I'm not expecting any change in the decision but I imagine it would be by end of day today?

8. Any attempt to use or suggest profanity is prohibited. This means you may not use symbols to replace some or all of the letters in a word that might otherwise be blocked by the BGP word filter. Any attempt to circumvent the word filter with general abbreviations or text message abbreviations will also be considered a violation under this rule.

I have the Birds in a signature win if they don't turn the ball over like the Frederick Douglass game. Ready the Cannon!

It is very clear that you don't know the entire situation that developed there. Of course you could not hear anything that was or wasn't said. Who the officials were and where they were from. Your use of" It's safe to assume", "his body language and gestures clearly don't convey" " ,that tells me" etc. that you are trying to create a negative picture of a kid in a very competitive situation that is only a conjecture on your part. There is more to this story that will come out later. after a hearing. Making a judgement about a kid on the field giving 100% on every play to help while watching a silent film is not what you or anyone else should place a lot of stock in. It seems. I am not saying that he was happy with what was going on with the officials and there was some reaction ,but at no time was he trying to play fast and loose with the rules. Only is your arrogance here overshadowed by your total lack of knowledge of this situation. Then trying to create an image about a great young man that is totally false to make yourself look impressive is terrible.

I have watched a lot of Driver on film. He is a great player, and a force, and talented. None of that is untrue.

BUT. I have spoken to a lot of people who know Boyle Co and know the game. I said nothing untrue and made no libelous statements. I have no dog in this fight, and no concern about what people think about him. I merely stated what I have observed and know. It's an anonymous site. I have no interest in making myself look impressive. I was simply stating observations from a trained eye. Nothing I said was false. And it was all clearly on film. The eye in the sky doesn't lie.

Be as mad at me as you want. I just shared what I observed as someone who knows what they're talking about.
