I've asked that question so many times on here, and nobody has an answer as to why you don't have to win the championship, or even come in 2nd... And the masses are happy. I've also asked it. Would UK fans have been content with a Final Four appearance and then one in the NIT? Hardly.

February 14, 200719 yr Wrong again LABS. Lofton waited and offer was pulled. It must have been when they signed Carrier and Stockton. You know UK very well LABS could you post those two guys career stats? Take them but pass on Lofton. Plus add in the dead weight foreign players brought in. What a joke. BTW back earlier this year you said you were done with OTS. The boys and I had you convinced. 18-7 record get you back in the Tub? UK had 4 GREAT players coming in out of high school supposevly and ANY coach in America even if they were at UK would have taken them over Lofton especially after having no success with 2 prior Mr. Kentucky basketball players...As I said earlier in this thread the player that cost Lofton a spot on the UK basketball team is Patrick Sparks. If Dennis Felton didn't leave Sparks would have stayed at WKU, and we probably would have got Lofton then to fill that guard who can light it up. However Tubby did THE SMART THING at the time which once again any coach would do and that is take Sparks who already had a year of experience of college ball, instead of Lofton because them would be the same type of players who can shoot the 3 but cant play defense. Atleast coming out of high school that is what people thought about Lofton, so its a no brainer to take Sparks the guy who already had a year of experience and shown he could do alright. Patrick Sparks is the guy that cost Lofton a spot on the team, because any coach in America would HAVE to take that recruiting class we got over lofton AT THAT TIME...
February 14, 200719 yr Well, I was at this game, and it was a long ride home. UK cannot protect the ball enough to close a game out. Game tied, 2 minutes to go, and UK turns the ball over without getting a shot off. UT goes down and scores. UK brings the ball into half court...and TURNS IT OVER again....UT scores... Same thing happened in the UCLA game....opportunity to win at the end of the game, or at least put it into overtime, and BAM...turnover. Likewise with Georgia. This was the first time I've been in UT's arena, and I was very impressed. It's constructed much like Rupp, but they have chairbacks nearly to the top, with the exception of the top 10 rows. And I believe there's more leg room in the seating area than at Rupp. I was sitting in the middle of orange-clad fans everywhere...and was cheering for the Cats and complining over a few calls, but everyone was super nice. :thumb:
