February 11, 200719 yr ^ The last 9 seasons argue against that logic. The last 9? C'mon now the Cats were the top seed in the tournament two years in a row just 4-5 years ago. Yes I know they didn't reach the Final Four, but the program was still one of the top programs in the nation. I'll give you the last 2 or three years. Just take a look at UNC to see how quickly they rose back to the top.
February 11, 200719 yr I think the refs were for UK a little last night. I didn't see a lot of bad calls but there was a call when Perry dove out of bounds to save the ball with one hand, as soon as he touched it he threw it back in bounds but somehow the refs said hat he called a timeout. I didn't see anyway that he could have called a timeout but was hard to question since they didn't show a replay of it.

Just take a look at UNC to see how quickly they rose back to the top. I know you actually were defeding UK here, but the part I bolded is what I find most interesting. Because alot of people have said we haven't been on top the last 2 or 3 years, but last year was the ONLY YEAR in the last 4 years that we weren't one of the top programs. In 03 and 04 we were the #1 overall seed in the tournament, and then 05 we made the elite 8 and lost in double overtime. Alot of people have let what happened last year, make them think that we have had a few bad years in a row...This years team is going to do good in the tournament, so its going to only be one bad year that we have had in 5 years...

For his own good, or for UK's good? If you don't think UK can rise back to the top in the next 2-3 years, then why would it be just in Tubby's best interest to move on?
February 12, 200719 yr 39% from 3 Fitch was a really good shooter for us. His freshman year he really didn't shoot that well, and was really just in for defense and rebounding. But every year he got alot better, and was one of the best clutch shooters we had recently. Except for the last shot of his career against UAB...:cry:
February 12, 200719 yr Why was it so refreshing? That's the way home crowds should be. When the #1 team in the nation comes in, it is easy to get up for them. The crowd at Rupp needs to act like that be it Florida, Alabama, Vandy, or South Carolina that the Cats are playing. :thumb: We cant expect the crowd to be like that for every game, because not every game is against the #1 team. But if the crowd could even just have HALF of the excitement they had last night for every game, it would still be AMAZING!!!

The crowd should be like that every game, regardless of the opponent. It's just another example of UK fans being spoiled that they don't act that way every game.

Exactly. And that's why I've said that Rupp isn't intimidating anymore. If they'd have that blue & white theme every game then it'd be awesome and everyone would be afraid to come and play inside Rupp. Look what it did to Florida, I mean we lost by 3 at Rupp when it was going crazy, we almost pulled off a crazy win. Florida got nervous. If we could do that against everyone then we'd see a different UK team. I think it'd help UK if the crowd was more into it because it'd show the players, and get them pumped up. ( I know they should be pumped up anyway, but I don't see it at the beginning of games).

It happens all over the country. I do agree that the Rupp crowd needs to be more consistent, but there's no way you can expect them to be like they were last night every game.
