February 11, 200719 yr I like reality. UK rebuilt their roster and rotation in the off season and the group on hand is showing improvement game by game. If they didn't respond when down 16, you could kick and scream all the way to March. But that didn't happen. They fought tooth and nail to the wire with the #1 team in the country, and all you can do is look at the negative. That seems like such a fun way to be a fan... I agree GT! However, I don't like losing. Especially to Florida. Not bashing OTS, just frustrated with the loss.
February 11, 200719 yr Same with ours....And to add to the problem, ours isnt even right on the court...The student seats start about 15 rows back...Very effective.... Sorry, but the students sit right behind the pep band at FH. I never counted but I would be surprised if the pep band was fifteen rows deep. Sometimes things seem worse than they really are.
February 11, 200719 yr If you blame Tubby for that loss, you didn't watch that game. UK shot what, like 13% or something behind the arc and they've been averaging like 44% right? There were multiple open looks that they just didn't hit. If we hit anything near that average we beat them. Not to mention the FT's we missed... As long as they keep improving, I'll be happy.

February 11, 200719 yr Just gotta be realistic with this one and see that UK didn't take what was basically given to them. Played their hearts out, shots just weren't falling. I'm never one to question coaching, (especially a proven, great coach like Tubby) but why do you not put Porter in when you see the shots aren't falling? If I'm Tubby, I go down the bench, tell him to head to the scorers table and shoot the first time he has a semi-decent look. On another note, my loyalty to UK is ridiculous so I rarely say that I "like" players from another team (let alone, an SEC team). That being said, I will say that I love watching Brewer play. He's a fantastic player, not to mention the fact that he's the best dressed player in the nation.

February 11, 200719 yr Gotta give the UK crowd props tonight...Don't think they've been that hostile all year... I agree, that may have been the most hostile crowd at Rupp ever. Wish every game was like that, IMO that is what is missing at UK, the True fans and Students close to the floor, and what I believe is the main reason we cannot get the top talent no more because they want to feed off of the crowd and when the rowdiest fans are in the upper deck it is hard to do. But tonight showed that the lower level can get into it and these kids need that every game not just big games.

See here is the thing, if we would have brought in that same class at Florida, and Florida brought in that class we got in 04, we probably would have had people like you saying what is Tubby doing passing up on 5 star recruits to get people who are not 5 star recruits. It is so easy to look at it now after the players have shown what they could do, but at the time Tubby made the right decision on who to get, and if he went the other way you all would have been complaining how we are not getting top 10 players anymore...

And the problem was from players that are for the most part solid shooters. How is it Tubby's fault that good shooters had an off night? Criticize Tubby all you want, but in doing so make sure the reasons are valid and not reactionary...
