Dixie QB Mason Fields commits to Louisville

Louisville currently only has three QBs on the roster I believe... Brady Allen, Mason Mims and Deuce Adams all entered the portal and won't be returning.

I think it will be interesting to track those three and see where they end up. I keep hearing how maybe half the players in the portal don't get picked up by another school.

Smart move on his part. Wouldn’t surprise if he’s heading there as a PWO. Louisville currently has 7 QB on roster and 7 TEs on roster and they have a 4 star QB coming in. I'm sure he saw his offer bre

It's way more than half!

Generally speaking I would say that means their talent matches lower levels of college football.

The stats say that roughly 70% of kids who enter the portal don’t find a home.  It’s definitely a huge risk when most kids enter the portal.  I’ve been through it as a parent & it’s nerve racking.  Happy to say my son was in the 30% who do find a new home (FCS to FCS transfer).  Game film is key.

Mims to ETSU - FBS to FCS

Allen to Indiana St  - FBS to FCS

Adams to Wisconsin - SAME

Allen hasn’t committed anywhere yet, Mims committed to ETSU, and Adams committed to Wisconsin.

Not to get off topic on the portal... but let's recognize that way more than half the kids going into the portal were "told" to enter the portal by their current staff.  I have no knowledge on any of the kids mentioned above, but for a lot of the kids who "entered" it was because they had no other choice.

Allen signed with Indiana state already. This was tweeted 1/8

Glad to hear it worked out.

Yeah. If you’re on roster at a D1 Power 5 school. 9/10 you’re going to get picked up by somebody.

If you’re at a D1 school, 9/10 you’ll always find a new home whether you’re moving up or you’re moving. You’ll end up somewhere. It’s those D2/D3 kids that have nothing but practice film that stay in the portal. They enter with the intent of trying to move up and everything ends up falling through. College coaches do not care about practice film. They wanna see game film.
