The Cincinnati Kid!!!! Whole house was asleep except me. I’m yelling and jumping without making a sound. Turns out little girls don’t care about football.

I don't believe so.  I just think they don't have the talent that they had during that run.  For example in BBALL, they had a stretch run starting w/ D1 Ronny Dawn, through Michael Zimmerman and Marki

Before I rant, the way the system is set up, NewCath does not get hurt nearly as bad as Trinity or other teams that go out of state and win big games.  They haven't played the "game" well.  For that e

As far as who will coach and people knew this was going to be his last season. I was told by someone the Sunday before Halloween that if this was coach Lickerts last season that Sam Hubbard had interest in the job. Well you could imagine my face when I was told that. So you can see how rumor mills can work. Sam Hubbard? Moeller, Ohio State, and the Bengals? I’ll believe that when I see it in what I said.

I heard the Sam Hubbard thing too. Wonder where that's coming from?

People talk that's all I can say. I don't reach out to anyone for scoop, or even ask when I'm around people. Any info I've ever received has been told to me by someone else. The Sam Hubbard explanation made sense to a point, but it's still a bit far fetched for me to even believe, especially since he hasn't coached anywhere yet. Rumor mill is a wild and crazy place.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope not.  I don't want someone coming in and treating this job like a stepping stone position.  NewCath has had remarkable stability in it's coaching line.  The last thing the program needs is a coach coming in looking to make a splash and totally neglecting the feeder, freshman, and JV teams.

I agree.

Now if "Coach Hubbard" wants to spend a few years as an assistant coach/coordinator and then go after some head jobs, okay, but in a case like this I agree with @Three Blind Mice.

As I told my wife the coaching is the easy part. All of the "other stuff" is what you learn as an assistant and even then it can become a bit overwhelming. The Breds will make a good decision and I would think that there would be a lot of interest in the position. New facilities, good talent base, and a very easy district. I can totally understand Lickert's decision as a principal, especially at a big Cincinnati school like Withrow.

I would disagree with some of the comments regarding a potential Sam Hubbard hire. I believe there is some connection to the current NewCath administration. I don’t believe he would treat it as a stepping stone hire. Having played in a high level program at Moeller I think he would be a great leader and would continue to have Coach Dave Schneider for the offense. I think we have seen success from former players throughout the state. While NewCath is an established program I think with the new facilities I think you’ll see renewed growth in the program. Just my two cents.

While pursuing an experienced coach has clear advantages, there are also plenty of young, driven coaches who could thrive and provide long-term stability with the strong support and backing of the NewCath community and administration. I don’t believe the Hubbard situation is as far-fetched as some suggest. Based on what I’m hearing, I anticipate the new coach will be announced within the next week.

Zero chance. Wiggins does not have the personality fit for NewCath, and I don’t anticipate him leaving his alma mater. Dan Court could fit the mold, but I expect the administration and community will prioritize experience, which I don’t believe is always necessary and is often weighed too heavily in these decisions.

It's a weak source, but I heard by next Friday. It could vary well be wrong. Regardless, it will definitely be soon as weights are ramping up.

Any chance Noel Rash puts in for this job?

I would think this job starts and stops with Terry Brown. Everyone else would and should be second in line.
