If there's actually any "word on the street" like that, I'm guessing it's either a very very short street or a private driveway, because there isn't much word like that going around at all.

That is probably because nobody is opening up about it.

I don't believe so.  I just think they don't have the talent that they had during that run.  For example in BBALL, they had a stretch run starting w/ D1 Ronny Dawn, through Michael Zimmerman and Marki

Before I rant, the way the system is set up, NewCath does not get hurt nearly as bad as Trinity or other teams that go out of state and win big games.  They haven't played the "game" well.  For that e

Coach Brown would be a homerun!! Not only one of the best coordinators in the state, one of the best human beings. Throw everything at him to get him on the Hill.

Just wanted to point out that it would seem that there was some pretty good information being passed around in late November when I started the "Is Newport Central Catholic open?" thread...despite these two posts from that thread ??

I think the “invested deeply for at least the immediate future past this year” is referring to Lickerts son who I read is attending Highlands rather than NCC. Had he decided on NCC, Lickert may be the HC still from my understanding.

I doubt it. It’s hard to balance being a principal and a head football coach. Especially when it’s 2 different schools in two different states. It wouldn’t surprise me if he took sometime off of coaching or if he ends up on the Highlands staff.

That's an interesting idea. Steve was a DC before being a HC. With Bob Sphire currently running the defense, bringing Steve on could be a way to free him up to only HC duties. My gut tells me Steve will take some time off though.

I was told he told the players had his son chose to attend NCC he would’ve had 4 more years to coach. In what capacity I don’t know.

As far as who will coach and people knew this was going to be his last season. I was told by someone the Sunday before Halloween that if this was coach Lickerts last season that Sam Hubbard had interest in the job. Well you could imagine my face when I was told that. So you can see how rumor mills can work. Sam Hubbard? Moeller, Ohio State, and the Bengals? I’ll believe that when I see it in what I said.

Yeah. He is probably taking some time off coaching and going to focus on his new principal job.

LOL... People are going to lose their minds when that interest becomes more well known.

If true, I think it would be a rude awakening for Hubbard.
