Article with a good time-line of the celebration that ensued after the national championship was secured by the Hoosiers. It seems that several couches met an ill-fated outcome.

Going 16-0 is no joke. I'm old enough to remember when North Dakota State University, in 2019, went 16-0 and won a hard-fought battle in the FCS championship game in Frisco, TX. The opposing coach: Curt Cignetti. That was Cignetti's first year coaching James Madison.

The missed field goals for Miami contributed, but the blocked punt for Indiana’s touchdown was huge. They weren’t doing anything offensively in the second half until after that.

This was just a great college football game!  I had no loyalty to either one of the teams playing, but I cheered like I was a diehard Hoosier fan.  My daughter and I even woke up my wife yelling when Mendoza ran the ball in on that terrific TD run! ? 

Mendoza showed why he deserved the Heisman. Check out his bruised arm from last nights game. He is a tough dude.

I feel like this was the best college football season of all time.

At the same time so many of the "old guard" are screaming something has to be done about the NIL/Portal, lol.

Here is the next level of improbability that I could see. A mid level team not even in a power conference goes into the portal, adds players who didn't get what they wanted, builds an older experienced roster like IU did and makes a playoff run. Basically take the IU model to a school like Miami OH.

Sure it could happen and I hate to be this way but who cares about the MAC. With enough money Miami (OH) could run through the competition but then what!?
