Which would you as a player/parent/fan/alum of an All-A eligible team rather see your team win?

The Championship of your Region and entry to the Sweet 16?

All A championship!

A state championship is out of the question, so I'm glad you didn't include that. But I think winning a regional title for a trip to the Sweet 16 would be a bigger prize than the state All "A." A regional championship is really as good as a state title for most teams and winning that would be beyond most teams dreams. As a single-A school you have to beat bigger schools to win a district and region so those would be huge wins just to get the trophy.

 

Winning the state All "A" would be fantastic, but you don't necessarily have to pull off any "size" upsets to do it.

Winning a state championship involving about one-half of the schools in the Commonwealth is far superior to winning a regional championship involving a mere 16, plus or minus one or two, schools.

No question about it, the Sweet Sixteen.

 

However they are totally different tournaments. A lot of small schools dont legitimately have the chance to win the big tourney and this is a legitimate tournament with some good talent.

 

Basketball especially is hard for the small schools. Baseball is a little easier in the big tourney, usually their are at least 5 small schools in the Baseball Sweet Sixteen and they can compete, however in basketball this is not the case unless they have an unusually large front line.

I thought it was every high school players ultimate dream to play in Rupp Arena in March.

Definitely winning the regional tourney.

:thumb: :thumb: I agree, if it came down to one or the other I may be in a minority but the Sweet 16 is what it is all about in Kentucky. I would rather win the 16th Regional Championship and advance to Rupp Arena and the Ky. State Basketball Tournament. I am not sure but I don't believe that the all A classic is sanctioned by the khsaa as a "State Title".

I'd have to go with winning the Regional title and playing in Rupp.

 

I'm not a player, though, so my opinion doesn't carry much weight.
