? Robbins and Evans Highlight Battle Of Unbeatens

The Tigers used a few of their nine lives to escape Lexington Catholic. They'll gather what's left for a five hour journey to Erlanger.

There will be no rest for the weary upon arrival. Kaleb Evans’ right arm is cocked and ready to fire away.

Wyatt Robbins will return in kind.

The two have drifted in and out of the Mr. Football conversation, making this a marquee showcase opportunity for both.

Expect daggers to fly, but don't be surprised if defense has the final say in the outcome. Both units are in playoff shape, with the Tigers and Juggs allowing around 9 ppg since mid-season.

Lloyd is hosting its first semifinal in 22 years. Mother nature has the Juggs’ back, as next Friday projects as very cold, vintage NKY late November playoff conditions.

But as we saw last week, Murray has the resolve to battle through adversity. And they'll need it after traversing most of the state on a bus for 5+ hours.

  • I’m taking the Juggs. I know Murray has a Mr Football candidate at QB but Lloyd has athletes all over the field.    safe travels and good luck to both teams.

This will be a major battle.  Heart picked the Juggernauts as seeing the 5 hour bus ride adding greatly to home field advantage.  Suspecting fireworks!

I’ll be given my thoughts on the upcoming game after I do a little bit of research and some homework. lol don’t know much about Murray yet!

So I just wanted to post this just to hear some thoughts. I know that any team can win for the most part on any given day. With that being said, I was looking at Murrays competition over the season. So this is what just blew me away! Lex Cath beats Boyle in the regular season. Since that game Boyle has been undefeated including wins over Cov Cath, Highlands and St. X just to name a few. Then along comes Murray and beats Lex Cath. (You see where I'm going with this?) I know Lloyd has a chance but on paper you would think not at all. Would love to hear some thoughts on this and help me off the ledge. LOL

I really like this Murray team offensively. They have shown some deficiencies defensively, but, have still found ways to win the games when the D is struggling. They have really good size and athleticism in the o-line and the skill positions are solid. The QB is one of the best in the state. He can sling it all over the field with precision and if a D over pursues, he has no problem using his running ability to pick up 1st downs and moving the chains. IMO, if Lloyd is to win this game, they need to be able to consistently run the ball and move the chains and then manage to at least win a few battles on the defensive end. I expect Murray to at least score 4 TDs, so, the Juggs will need to be somewhat effective offensively to keep pace. Not sure they can do that.. I'll take the Tigers in the one. I'll say 28-14

Mr Football Evans and the Juggs roll!

Afraid you are right.  Sure hope not.

Question for the Juggs faithful: is Lloyd’s defense as good as Lex Cath?  Asking for a friend? ?

But seriously, don’t know much about Lloyd other than being a good team.

I’m going to go with Lloyd. This will be a very close game in my opinion and Murray is taking a very long ride. Go Juggs!

Honestly, I don’t know much about Lexington Catholic this year other than the fact they beat Boyle County. That should be enough said. I think Lloyd is going to need to play very discipline ball and try to control the clock. I personally would put a spy on the quarterback. Do not let him scramble.

Lloyd Memorial 21-20.
