It is homecoming week for Beechwood as the Owen County Rebels travel to Ft. Mitchell for the 7:30 pm kickoff. Beechwood enters district play after suffering their first loss of the year at the hands of Covington Catholic. Owen County is 2-2 on a 2 game winning streak, defeating Dayton and Pendleton County the last two weeks. Beechwood is the #1 ranked team in 2A and formidable obstacle to Owen County winning a third straight game.

Owen County's offense is led by Junior RB Austin Young who is averaging almost 10 yards per carry. In last week's win Young rushed for 181 yards and 4 touchdowns. Senior QB Brayden Lynch is also the second leading rusher. Senior WR Trip Allnut is the leading receiver and on defense the team's leading tackler.

Beechwood Junior QB Emmett Queen leads 2A statewide in passing completing 68% of his passes for 1,006 yards, 11 TD's against 2 INT's. Junior WR's Tyler Fryman and Nathan Pabst are both in the top 5 in 2A in receiving. The defensive statistical leader is Senior DE Chase McDaniel with 2 sacks and 8 tackles for loss.

Beechwood has dominated Owen County is their district meetings the last two years. Can Owen County slow down the Beechwood Tigers on homecoming night?

Nope running click early! It’s homecoming week but Beechwood is also having the 30 year reunion of the class of 1995. There might be another class Reunion as well but I don’t know. It will ne a fun night.

Class of 70 and 75 will be there for reunions too.  Class of 75 (football season 74), was the first team to make it to state.  They will be expecting a big win!

This question definitely intrigued me, so I went back through the record books.  Last district game that Beechwood lost based on KHSAA records is against Bellevue in '05.  They lost to NCC in the playoffs in '06 but beat them in the regular season district game.  So amazingly enough, it's been 20 yrs since they lost a regular season district game!

No district opponent has scored 10 points or more on Beechwood in the last 6 years. That is with Beechwood's second team playing most of the second half in almost all those games.

Beechwood returns short opening kick on the ground for a td, extra point is good 7-0. 11:47 left in the first quarter
