Huh? You don’t think playing a team w/out 2 of their best players isn’t lucky? I understand the “next man up” motto, but nobody that’s ever played sports would agree with you.

if nothing else, we can agree its not the same team that controlled CovCath w/out them 2.

This makes more sense. Both of those kids are studs.

Both teams have a great bunch of kids that work hard. That's what I love about high school football.

Every team has key players that are injured preseason through postseason. It’s what it is. If Keith Bogans doesn’t twist his ankle in the Sweet 16 then UK probably beats Marquette and Dwayne Wade in the regional final, but it’s the it goes sometimes.

I would describe your example as unlucky for UK but who cares.

Cooper is lucky. I know a bunch of Jags that just love to see that typed out. Nothing better than winning the rivarly game after hearing about how you were gonna get smoked all week then opening up the internet and reading the excuses. You just love to see it.

Little brother whipped big brother.

As Austin Alexander's 1-1 head coach at North Carolina would say: On to CAL!!!

I can count the teams on one hand in Kentucky that would be happy about saying "On to CAL!"  Oh, and probably have fingers left over.

“Little brother” also currently has more state finals appearances, and I believe more regional championships than “big brother” too, and have done so in less years. So probably was not the best look to be saying things like that, with all the talk that was leading into that game.

I was making fun of the Ryle people saying little brother.

"Little brother" will be chomping at the bit to take the ole Pioneers behind the woodshed on Oct 24th. What does that make SK, "baby brother"?

Lee will probably be back for that one too. Lol.

I feel every time I comment you Ryle people more and more nervous. I think it is hilarious. Good luck against CAL. When CAL beats Ryle remember  SK beat CAL the last 2 times they played them lol.

10/11 years ago when CAL was a 2A team? SK lost to Ryle one of those years too.

Loving the banter back and forth, end of the day I hope fans from both sides can move forward to support each team on winning a State Championship for both 5A and 6A.

As of today, Conner High School is the only school from the Boone County School District with a state championship.

Couldn’t agree more, with the exception of H2H record. But I think anyone would prefer state championship appearances over H2H wins. It seems that all of Ryle (parents, coaches and players) expected to roll through most, if not all, of their regular season games. Playful banter between teams can be fun for all, but the Daddy’s Money comments from Ryle about Cov Cath can be rolled into this topic too. It will be interesting to see if Ryle is better prepared for a tough CAL team this week.
