Both teams have a great bunch of kids that work hard. That's what I love about high school football.

Loving the banter back and forth, end of the day I hope fans from both sides can move forward to support each team on winning a State Championship for both 5A and 6A.

As of today, Conner High School is the only school from the Boone County School District with a state championship.

I had to go back and look at Owen Hauck's tenor at Boone County High School not realizing they never won the state championship.  4 runner up trophies I believe.  Same nemesis - Trinity and St X.

Couldn’t agree more, with the exception of H2H record. But I think anyone would prefer state championship appearances over H2H wins. It seems that all of Ryle (parents, coaches and players) expected to roll through most, if not all, of their regular season games. Playful banter between teams can be fun for all, but the Daddy’s Money comments from Ryle about Cov Cath can be rolled into this topic too. It will be interesting to see if Ryle is better prepared for a tough CAL team this week.

I must have missed where all of Ryle expected to roll through most of their schedule. As someone fairly close to the team, we expected Cov/Coop/Cal/High to all be very tough opponents. Without question, all of them could have been losses.

Although I tend to agree about championship appearances, but we all can agree 6A is an entirely different animal than 5A. You can make a strong argument that 6A, 4A, and 3A would be harder to win the past few years when Cooper made their run. That isn't a knock on Cooper at all, just stating it's not apples to apples.

They lost to Shelby Co one of those years after beating them in the regular season.

Pretty much crushed them in the regular season and lost close in the finals.  No one will ever convince me Shelby County was better but they were that day.

Well the 5A state runner up last year, did beat the 6A state runner up last year. So probably would have liked their chances in 6A last year to, to make it. Not to mention the run through 5A definitely was tough considering going through teams like Scott County both years. Then going through a blue blood in Highlands two years in a row in the semi finals, when Highlands definitely had a team capable for winning state, yet simply couldn’t get by Cooper. So I think acting like 5A also wasn’t as tough as some of the other classes you mentioned is very misleading.

Que the excuses of why Cooper beat Ryle last year.

I stated harder to "win" not to make it.

6A is still harder to make it to the finals than 5A. I don't think that's really debatable, although I'm sure someone will try.
