Covington Catholic 42 Simon Kenton 7
This week starts the slippery slope of SK's downhill slide. Tough schedule coming up. I could see four straight losses going into district play. Looking forward to their matchup with Conner. I think that will be a really good game. SK's time in the BGP 6A Top 10 (which is a stretch) will be short lived. Cov 44 SK 6

The top 4 here are strong. Good year for the top of 4A. Looking forward to November.

Ryle 36 Conner 21
Boone and Conner are 5A while Ryle is 6A so Ryle is not in their district. Ryle hasn't played Boone County since Bryson Warner was the BCHS head coach and did not renew the county rivalry. This was probably on the best interest of both teams at the time. I do agree that Ryle should still have a few 'easy' games this year I think I would put Ryle at 4th in NKY, but they have a lot to prove. Ironically, my 1-3 in NKY were Ryle's first three opponents, two of them being scrimmages though.

Cooper announces Adam Begley as next head football coach
Tyler is a young, motivated coach who wants stuff done the right way. I think this will be a great hire for AD. I’m not familiar with the new HC, but love the AD hire.

2026 Dixie Heights Colonels
I’m not very familiar with the Dixie program, but I know of some Dixie alumni currently playing at the next level. I’m not sure it’s the players’ talent pool that is lacking at Dixie right now with 14 wins over the past four seasons.

Open Job: Cooper
Woolley, Niederman and Lickert would definitely be great hires IMO. What about Gary Pence? A few years removed from coaching under Borchers (for many years I believe). Now the head coach at Walton-Verona. Could he be an option to return to Cooper?

Dixie QB Mason Fields commits to Louisville
Another Division 1 athlete graduating from DHHS, yet we haven’t seen a winning record since this coach took over.

I see CAL extending their 21 game winning streak to 36 and completing back to back undefeated state championship seasons. If they can go 15-0 in 2026, they would be setup for a chance to break Kentucky’s all time win streak with a 51st straight victory at the 2027 state championship. From the KHSAA record book: CONSECUTIVE WINS School, (Years), Coach(es) 50 Trinity (Louisville) (1988-91), Dennis Lampley 48 Bowling Green (2011-14), Kevin Wallace 47 Boyle County (1999-02), Chuck Smith- Trinity 28 South Warren 14 (6A State Championship)

I saw this too. Watching the 859 broadcast, there were two very big missed calls by this crew on back to back plays that would have given Ryle the ball with favorable field position. There will always be mistakes, but these are quite bad and hard to ignore on back to back plays. Fast forward to 59:40 and watch 3rd and 4th downs. Thanks for the coverage 859.- Cooper 20 Ryle 13
Couldn’t agree more, with the exception of H2H record. But I think anyone would prefer state championship appearances over H2H wins. It seems that all of Ryle (parents, coaches and players) expected to roll through most, if not all, of their regular season games. Playful banter between teams can be fun for all, but the Daddy’s Money comments from Ryle about Cov Cath can be rolled into this topic too. It will be interesting to see if Ryle is better prepared for a tough CAL team this week. - 2026 Christian Academy of Louisville Centurions
