Can anybody sum up who's left and who plays who?

 

Upper bracket consists of

 

Highlands/Bye - Highlands (18-0)

vs.

Holmes/HC - Holmes

 

NCC/St. H - NCC (9-7)

vs.

Ryle/Scott - Ryle (17-4)

 

Lower bracket consists of

 

Dixie/Boone - Dixie (21-9)

vs.

SK/Newport (12-5) - Weds

 

Beech/Cov Cath (9-8) - Weds

vs.

Conner (12-8)/Lloyd - Weds

 

I'm sure not all of those records are correct but that's the last report I have.

I loved playing in the 9th region frosh tournament, too bad we had to play CCH and they actually had some Colonel Crazies that night 20 years ago.

Scott was in it also. Aren't they in the 10th. They lost to Ryle in the first round.

 

 

Technically, it's the NKAC tournament, not the 9th region.

CCH normally has a student section made up of mostly frosh at the tournament...

Except they seem to always forget to invite SOME members of the NKAC.

Does anyone know when the 37th district championship will be for Freshmen?

The freshman tournament is hosted by Covington Catholic.The tournament is open every year to the division I and II teams in the NKAC. This would be 16 teams if they all played. Not all of them chose to play, so Div III teams are asked to fill in if they choose. This is how Beechwood got into the tournament. It used to be a 9th region tournament, but obviously when the 9th region was divided up it can no longer be called that. I think Bishop Brossart was the first Div. II school to no longer play in the tournament because there is a 10th region freshman tournament they participate in and therefore there usually was a conflict. I know this also occurs in the JV tournament as well. Kudos to Jack Kaelin for the awesome job he does at running this event. It is always done in a first class way!
