South Oldham (31-5) completes the fourth quarter comeback against Jtown to move onto the KHSAA Final Four tomorrow morning against Bowling Green at 11 a.m.

Bowling Green (30-6) has had a grind it out type of approach the last two games at Rupp Arena in physically demanding battles against Adair Co and Ashland. The Dragons from South Oldham will look to continue their hot shooting from the perimeter into the semifinals.

Simple questions:

Do the Dragons stay hot from deep and put the pressure on Bowling Green? Or will the Purples tenacity and physical approach make things difficult and lead the way to the night cap tomorrow?

What say you?

I'm not going to pretend that I thought they'd necessarily blow it out, but like I said yesterday, I've seen Bowling Green in these types of matchups, and they win them.  A team that relies so heavily

Bowling Green wins 73-51, they advance!

South Oldham and Bowling Green have never met before.

Bowling Green is honestly starting to feel like a team of destiny.  They trailed much of the district championship against Warren Central, won on a three with less than 6 seconds left.  Trailed a good amount in the region championship against Clinton County, including 10-0 to open, pulled away in the 4th.  Trailed plenty in both of the first two games of this tournament, and today barely led, but they stuck with it, and made the plays required to get the win.  And that's not even touching on seemingly every team up top that was expected to be in the way melting away.  Bowling Green entered the tournament ranked fifth out of the eight teams in their half of the bracket, by the final media poll.  Every single one of the four ahead of them lost in the first round.  I've seen Bowling Green in the type of matchup they're going to have tomorrow - they win those games.  I feel decently confident that Bowling Green is going to be playing for a chance to cut down the nets just after this time tomorrow.

BG has been lethal from 3 this season percentage wise and have had a few games where they have hit a bunch. However, in his tournament they have morphed into old school Sherrill ball driving to the basket and living at the line. They have only made 5 threes combined in their opening 2 games. Will be interesting to see if South’s style drags BG into a shooting contest or if they stick to what has gotten them here.

A good start will be key. BG can chip away at a big lead, but I’ve seen a few games at Rupp where a team gets down BIG from the start. I think WC got down something like 19-1 back in 2010 against Ballard. They were able to claw back to tie and lost on a last second mid-court 3.

Deuce needs to keep playing at this level. This is why he was preseason player of the region, we’re FINALLY seeing THAT guy!  My favorite Purple of all time.

Defense is the key. Can BG keep South shooters off balance and wear their legs out.?Can South stay in front of the Purples defensively.? 3 is alway more than 2, but what happens when the team that can do both clicks? Should be another barn burner in the greatest prep tournament in our great nation.

South Oldham has been shooting very well and especially so from behind the arc. Bowling Green, on the other hand, has been very physical and able to wear teams down this week. I was really impressed with how they looked in the win this morning over Ashland. I think overall the Purples are more physical and that might not bode well for South. So give me BG.

BG wins with this one with defense.  I expect this to be a good game but I think BG can defend the perimeter well enough to get the win.  I also love how BG has finished at the rim with multiple guys

Idlett, Idlett, Idlett. SO better lock him up. He’s the straw that stirs BG.

I'm ready for this one! I'll take the Dragons by 5 to advance to the state championship!

According to the broadcast 270 schools started the season chasing a championship and we are down to the final four.

0-0

Bowling Green 14 South Oldham 8

End of one.
