  1. One of the more bizarre things I can remember seeing in a game of that magnitude. Down 2 with around a minute to play and Central missed about 6 FT's in a row and got the offensive rebound each time. Shouldn't happen once - definitely not multiple times especially with a D1 post player on the blocks.
  2. I still think BG was and is the better team this season, they just weren't in a 1 game scenario. They were borderline top 10 wire to wire, 29 wins, undefeated in region play prior to last night, wins over 4 teams that advanced to the sweet 16 etc. Central executed a nice game plan, and when it got tight late BG looked like a team who hasn't done it in a while - because they haven't. Having seniors who have experienced winning that game, even with little or no PT, makes a difference. Central got arguably Kade's best game of his season going 6/7 from 3 and BG scored just 3 points in the fourth quarter to lose in OT. Bounce of the ball here or there and maybe it goes the other way. But you can't take anything away from WC. They capitalized on BG's naivety and as I said earlier, appeared to want the game more.
  3. No other way to put it, shocking loss for BG. Probably rivals the 2011 collapse for me. Played with their food up 9 in the 3rd then forgot how to play the final 12 minutes of the game. WC seemed to want it more. Congratulations to the Dragons.
  4. Final. Warren Central 64 Bowling Green 57. Shocking upset in the 4th region. Dragons head back to Rupp for the 3rd straight year.
  5. Lightning fast first half. Over in 25 minutes. Refs letting them play a bit. Central has hit about 5 triples themselves as both teams shooting it well.
  6. Agree with @DragonFire. I don't think there is any chance this game is played in the 70's. Central will sit in their 3/2 matchup zone and try to slow the pace. This game in particular between these two in the past have generally been played in the 50's/60's. The script has flipped from last season as now it's Bowling Green who is 3-0 on the year and the favorites with everything to lose and Central who can play loose with no pressure. Last year's final proved to be the Dragons biggest scare of the postseason and I won't be shocked if this one is another classic. I see BG pulling it out late 58-51.
  7. The best rivalry in the state squares off again tonight for all the marbles in Diddle Arena. The Purples have beaten the Dragons 3 times this year, but this is the only one that matters. Who punches their ticket to Rupp Arena? Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm central time and will be broadcasted at the link below. - Sporting Times (stfanclub.com)
  8. District tournament winners will play district tournament runners-up from a different district. Can't have the same districts on the same side of the bracket. Reason why BG and WC can only meet in the finals every year.
