I am also interested in what you think on Beechwood vs. Holy Cross @Baseball Nut 24 now that Jack Sullivan is out for the rubber match. Will the home environment keep the Tigers in it? 

The injury was very unfortunate for Jack Sullivan. Great kid and was having an outstanding senior season. Holy Cross has been dealing with injuries as well so it will all depend on those. Nate Rominger and Luke Arlinghaus have both been out the last 4-5 games but Arlinghaus returned vs St. Henry last week playing about 15 minutes. I would assume both try to play. All that being said the Sullivan loss is big for Beechwood. Add in the home court advantage for the Tigers. I think this game is close throughout and comes down to the last few minutes. Which players can make the big plays to help their team win. Coin flip game and one I hope my Indians can win on the road.

Note - They are clearing the gym after the Cov Cath/Holmes game expecting a huge crowd possibly a sell out for game #2. If you can’t make the game and want to listen you can do so via Holy Cross Radio at the link below.

ill take Ryle over Conner in a close one and I’ll go with an upset with NCC over Highlands playing at home.

I was talking with my Dad about this the other day. We have said for years with the close proximity of teams in the 9th Region just use the 4 biggest gyms and have opposing District Tournaments there EVERY YEAR. For example, the 35th would be at Conner 33rd at Holmes etc. This way no team gets home court advantage and there is plenty of room/parking. Rotate years which team gets the gate and maybe have the host school keep concessions or something like that. Under the current format however I don’t blame Beechwood at all for hosting at their gym.

Hate to bring this back up in this thread but.....yes he definitely got paid. How that pay was structured is the key to him still having high school eligibility. If it was along the lines of NIL he still has eligibility, if it was a contract to play for pay then his eligibility was forfeited. I think someone is his camp was smart enough to find a way for him to keep his HS eligibility before he went to OTE if he had a slimmer of a thought about ever playing in the KHSAA again at some point. Meyers at HC was at OTE for a while and came back to play for HC. You can also pay to play at OTE, or use to be able to at one point. I think theres a good chance TK wants to play for a state title, Mr. Basketball and Mcdonalds All American roster spot next year. Sorry for bringing this up again, back to 24-25 9th Region basketball...

The NewCath over Highlands talk is picking up steam, but I don't see it unless the Breds shoot really well and some how the Birds just cannot finish down low. As far as Newport goes, I don't see them getting out of the second round of the regional.

I've been waiting for Highlands to play their best basketball still so I am taking them in this one as well, thinking that they will put a full good game together. If they don't pull it out I would say they have under performed this year even though the expectations from most were not very high with them being vastly underclassmen.

I agree.  NCC is small and while I think Coach Luhn has done an unbelievable job, they do not have the horses (pun intended) or should not have the horses to match up with Highlands.

I am totally bummed that all these 2/3 games are being played tonight. I really wish I could catch a couple and not have to just pick one.

I would guess Conner/Ryle will be the most competitive and have a great atmosphere. 

Holy Cross (16-10) at Beechwood (16-11) has a great chance to sellout. They are clearing the gym after the Cov Cath/Holmes game. These two teams played twice this year each winning one.

All "A" Classic - Beechwood won 50-41 (HC played w/o McElheney)

District seed game - Holy Cross won 61-59 (everyone healthy)

There’s anyone know the ticket policy for the Ryle/ Connor game tonight? Are they clearing the gym after the first game?

My understanding is they are not clearing the gym. I know the game at Beechwood,  they are clearing the gym. Not sure of ticket policy.

Have to buy tickets for Holy Cross/Beechwood through Eventlink from what I was told.

Does anyone know if they are taking cash at the gate for the Ryle/Conner game or can someone post a ticket link?
