Between DeGroff , Lorms and Coppola there was to much that Conner couldn't handle.  Lorms was contained the first quarter but he found ways to get to the rack. At one point Finn Louden had 14 of the Cougars 20 points, I think he fouled out with having 19. The refs let them play and the atmosphere was outstanding.

I didn’t believe NewCath could beat Highlands unless the Birds bigs had an off night and that didn’t happen. I do believe the Birds have the ability to be Newport. Highlands has come on a little down the stretch and Newport is still struggling from the line. If Rondon has a slow night and the Birds limit their turnovers I see them at least having a chance to win,  not like last game, but down to the wire legitimately.

I think Highlands has yet to play their best basketball and it could come out against Newport. Been waiting on Newport to get their act together but at this point I think they just are who they are. I think Highlands is about to come in to this one really determined. I have been rooting for both teams all year because I love seeing good basketball in the 9th and I think these two have been right there all year long trying to be considered in the top but have struggled to find consistency.

Didn’t Lorms have 10/11 points in the first quarter? Not much containment he got to the rim with power multiple times.

I hope it means Newport has figured something out and they don't come into the regional tournament and lay a dud. Was told they should have beat Highlands by 20 a few weeks ago, maybe they figured out a recipe for success.
