The Cats (14-5) (3-3) travel down I-75 on Tuesday night to take on the Vols (17-3) (4-3). Both teams coming off losses today the Cats on the road at Vandy and Vols also lost on the road to #1 ranked Auburn. The Cats have lost 2 straight SEC games going into to this one. The game is scheduled to tip on Tuesday at 7:00pm on ESPN. Go Cats!!

I think Zeigler will drive us crazy all night and Lanier will get any shot he wants. I hope I'm completely wrong, but I don't feel good heading into this game.

This team has great parts but each one is flawed. They are kinda like the island of misfit toys.

I don't believe I will be able to make myself watch this one.  I simply don't see it going well.

"Flawed" is the exact word I've used all season. All of the players are good and some are capable of being great at times but none are All-American types that can dominate a game. My best-case scenario all year has been a 4-seed and Sweet 16 appearance with the hope that a good draw and a couple upsets could propel them even higher.

There is great irony in the fact people love railing on "one and done" players, and now UK's roster - which is a lot like other team's rosters in today's world - is comprised of guys that will only spend one year in Lexington.

I'm hoping UK can get into a groove, win a few games in a row, and be a top 4 seed. It'll be a battle. In almost 40% of UK's games, they have trailed by double-digits at some point. That is a bad long-term indicator.

This was created by the transfer portal, not by a coach that thought the “one and done” players were going to win a championship for him, two totally different scenarios.

Did I say otherwise? That's the point, it's ironic.

Absolutely NO chance Pope's Hopes take a three game losing streak into Saturday's matchup against Cal the Great...

Like or not that one and done coach philosophy you mention did win a championship for him and the program. Not mention bright about one of the best 6 year runs in UK basketball history from 2010 to 2015 using that philosophy. Then even 2016 to 2020 cancelled tournament season also brought about a couple teams that were legit title contenders. So his one and done philosophy worked really dang well for basically the first 10 years or so. Obviously the last 4 to 5 years not so much.

Vols  77

Cats  72

Was talking with bugatti about irony, didn’t mean to offend you.

Was hoping UT would have been able to pull out a victory on Saturday. It was a rock fight in which they came up short. The Vols will be looking for blood.

This is oddly one of those places UK has played well at the past few years, despite UT being a strong foe. Obviously, different coaching and cast of characters are involved, but maybe some of that magic carries over.

Will Carr be back in action? Butler must play 50 times better than he did on Saturday.

Haven’t heard an update on the Carr injury, Butler has to play better tonight and I think he will.
