Final per Glicod.com.  Congrats Sayre, that is a huge victory for your football program.

For the first time since 2020, someone other than Pikeville will raise the 1A ?.

How about those Spartans!!!

Congratulations Spartans. I will admit I was wrong on this one. Well deserved.

Congratulations Sayre! I knew the Spartans could uncrown Pikeville. I know each team played different strengths of schedule and that Pikeville’s was clearly stronger, but this couldn’t be a better example of why the game is played. I watched Sayre play only a couple times over the season against weaker opponents and they had that factor with their style of play and uniqueness that could carry them a long way. Congratulations again to Sayre on an enormous win!

Somedays you eat the bear, somedays the bear eats you. Congrats to Sayre, they were the better team tonight.

I just want the strength of schedule Committee to hop on and see the score!

Another big one just finished, Covington Catholic beat Boyle County. Again, it’s WHY THE GAME IS PLAYED.

I see it and surprised! I thought Sayre had a chance but did not expect Pikeville to only score 6 points. That is a bigger surprise to me than Sayre winning.

Hats off to Sayre!

Olympus has fallen. Very impressive showing.

Sayre will host Campbellsville next week.

Ruined the chance of a 4 peat, a Pikeville playoff loss is a win for the entirety of 1A, good for Coach Pennington and the Spartans.

I don’t know who all was watching or following, but Sayre left points on the field in the first quarter. This wasn’t as close as the final score indicated in my opinion.

Very well could have been 28-6 at Half!

Don't know that much about Sayre, but to beat Pikeville that deep in the tournament is very impressive.

Going to be a great game vs Campbellsville next week!  Good luck to both teams.
