As a Douglass supporter, this game will show where we stand with our playoff philosophy, as this will absolutely have a November feel to it. Douglass historically wins with the run. With 4 capable RBs, we can keep the ball on the ground, and set up an occasional pass when Boyle loads the box.

What we can't have are quick 3 and outs caused by head scratching pass plays. I fully expect the Rebels to go for it on all 4th downs, and kick onside kicks with the expectation the Douglass O won't move up the field. The Broncos have to prove that they won't kill drives with unnecessary penalties and turnovers. In all three losses, their opponents have scored multiple times on a short field, following a bad turnover.

Last year, Douglass' DL got no push at all into the Boyle backfield, and they had as much time as they wanted to run their offense. The Bronco win in 2022 featured a defensive line with two current D1  linemen causing havoc, so this season, we need CJ Works Jr and Marcus Newcomb to penetrate the Rebel OL. Pressure must be applied BEFORE the ball gets to Quisenberry.

LBs Logan Busson and Kaden Clay are sure handed tacklers for Douglass, but were left on the ground grasping at air after being repeatedly shook by #5 for Boyle.  The game can't start out with the defense all chasing Quisenberry,  because all of the other playmakers are around. I also worry about the Driver TE, I think he will be a frequent 3rd down target Friday night.

For a big upset in Titletown, Douglass will need Peyton Smith, Logan Busson and CJ Works Jr. to be the stars. The run game needs to keep the Boyle offense off the field, and when they do have the ball, the defense needs to prevent any chance of a track meet. I like our chances to even this series!

Give me Douglass 27-21.

As was mentioned earlier, Boyle has won 29 straight. Beating Douglass would equal their 30 game run during the Larry French years in '09-'10. Still a long road ahead before Haddix can challenge C

vs.  This is an interesting series that is now in its 4th year and as @DearTodaystated above. What makes it interesting is that the visiting team has won every game so far in the series. Boyle de

21 for Boyle? Good luck accomplishing that.

I actually would play Q this Friday to make sure they hopefully get the 1 or 2 spot in the RPI so they don't travel for the semi's.  Then he can rest week 1,2 and 3 of the playoffs if need be.

Better chance of injury getting worse playing on it then could miss some or all of playoffs. To me, a kid's health is more important than RPI position.

Makes sense, make Tavi play so you can get better RPI! Don’t worry about, you know, his ankle or anything. Wow.

Guys, he HAS been playing.  Offense AND defense.  Against teams that they DID NOT NEED HIM to play against at all.   So they are obviously not that concerned about him getting injured further.  My point is that if he has something irritating him a little, let him sit the first couple of rounds of the playoffs.  If they were worried about it he wouldn't have played the last 3 weeks.

I'm expecting a war Friday night.   Home team seems to struggle in this series.  Last year Frederick Douglas only had 1 firstdown and that was by penalty, so I'm sure they want payback! Really looking forward to a meaningful football game with the possible #1 or #2 RPI and home field through out on the out come of this game.

Side note I'm hearing Tavy will be 100% Friday night.

Boyle comes into this one winners of 29 straight.

That is an unreal stat. Should be a great game between the two programs. Both have the goal of winning a state championship and I'm sure playing against each other will provide ample opportunity to get experience against a state championship caliber team.

I'm sure Bolye County Sports Nation, BCSN, will stream the game on team1sports.com too.

I need Boyle to win to keep Douglass RPI down.☘️
