His hitting .232 and he has struck out in about 1 in every 4 at bats probably has a lot to do with it.

Absolutely.  Plus a .187 average against lefties makes he strictly a platoon guy who is not hitting right handed pitchers well, suffering multiple injuries and is not even a legit late inning defensive replacement.

Reds do not score in the top of the 11th as Andujar grounds out Friedl moves to 3rd the Elly lines to short and Friedl gets doubled off 3rd. Then in the bottom of the 11th Barlow gives up the winning run on Gurriel Jr. single. With the loss the Reds fall back to 1.5 games out of the 3rd wild card spot.

The Reds with their win over the D-Backs yesterday and the Mets loss to the Braves the Reds are back to just 1.5 behind them. The Reds finish out the 9 game road trip starting tonight with 3 games vs. the Dodgers the Mets begin a 3 games vs. the Phillies tonight.

A 5 game winning streak between now and the end of the year by either the Mets or Reds could create the space needed for that team.  Reds home stand after these three in LA - Cardinals, Blue Jays and Mets would be a nice time to put that win streak together.

Reds go back to 2.5 games out as they fell 7-0 while the Mets put a beat down on the Phillies 13-3.

The win/loss roller coaster makes us Reds fans all ill.

Reds fall 5-3 last night at LA and with the Mets walk off win Cincy is 3.5 games behind for the final wild card spot.

4 games left this week. Tonight with LA and this weekend at home with the Cards. Mets have 1 with Philly and a 4 game set with Miami. Reds need to go 3-1 or 2-2 to stay in it going into next week. A series loss or sweep by STL will likely mark the end because they will jump us in the WildCard race. Mets come to GABP next weekend so Reds will have a chance to gain some serious ground if they can stay in it until then.
