Concessions!?! I am boarding up the windows as we speak here in the Fort.  The locals have traded their golf carts for canoes.  Kids are swimming home instead of walking.  After the 2:45pm dismissal,

  • Highlands wins if they stick to the run.

The only sure thing about this game is, this won't be the score....again. Will be a good one.

The big questions:

1. Can Highlands slow down the explosive Cooper offense?

2. If they can’t, is there any chance at all the Bluebirds can keep up?

3. What is the true assessment of Cooper’s defense? Last night could have been a whole lot closer at the end of not for two Ryker Campbell interceptions.

I would lean Cooper here, giving them the edge on offense. 38 28 Jaguars.

It definitely depends on which team shows up to play. That goes for Cooper as well as Highlands, either Team can have a good or bad night, we shall wait and see. COME ON BIRDIES, Practice hard sleep well in the Nest!

Cooper officially cements their claim as NKY’s best.

35-21

The deciding factor for the Birds to win will be turnovers and no unsportsmanlike penalties!

I'm a Highlands supporter and I just don't think the Birds are good enough to play with Cooper. On the flip side, are there enough Footballs in Union to go around? Sometimes less is more. Hope for a good clean played game. I expect this to be Part 1 with the 2nd game looming down the road in November. Regardless, its nice to see Highlands back in the yearly conversation with playing Quality football. Lots of football still to be played.

Cooper
Cam O'Hara (QB) - 83/124 for 1,291 yards and 20 TDs with 0 INTs | 3 rushing TDs
Isaiah Johnson (WR) - 24 receptions for 468 yards and 10 TDs
Austin Alexander (TE/DE) - 21 receptions for 334 yards and 4 TDs | 4 sacks
Keagan Maher (RB) - 500 yards from scrimmage and 5 TDs
Ryker Campbell (DB) - Team high 28 tackles  | 4 INTs | 1 KR TD

Highlands
Rio Litmer (QB) - 62/95 for 700 yards and 5 TDs with 5 INTs
Jack White (RB) - 73 carries for 441 yards and 1 TD
Adam Surrey (WR/DB) - 24 receptions for 276 yards and 3 TDs | 2 rushing TDs | 2 INTs including a pick-six
Jackson Arnold (WR/DB) - 19 receptions for 244 yards and 2 TDs | 1 INT
Thomas Hicks (LB) - Team high 39 tackles
Max Merz (OL) - Committed to UofL

O'Hara has yet to turn the ball over. Highlands has recorded at least one interception in each game this season. Something has to give.

Something else to chew on: Litmer has as many picks as touchdown passes. Ryker Campbell ranks third in the state in thefts and his confidence may be at an all-time high after the way he played last week.

Every way you slice it, this game has the potential to be a rollercoaster.

If played tomorrow with the weather coming in, this might be a 17-15 again.  Lol

UPDATE:

Game has been postponed. Later date is not currently known. Will provide more information as I receive it.

Honest question, would school be closing at noon if this was a Tuesday?
