I hope there are better days ahead for the Admirals. I saw their middle school team play a couple of weeks ago and was impressed - good quarterback who can sling it, several good backs/receivers, decent size on the line - but again, that's 8th grade. Can they keep them all playing (and playing at their school) is another question.

I saw them play Meece Middle in the opener at Campbellsville 3 weeks ago.  They did have some pretty good looking players.  Meece beat them 28-6, and never really let the Ads get anything going on offense.  But you could see that they have some potential.

Who made Danville's schedule?  This is their 2nd year hosting Pulaski Co?  Not sure what they were thinking as a struggling 2 A team.  Have a pay out game you can win?

It's Danville's bowl game, traditionally a four team affair. Prior to the 2023 season they had four teams, including Pulaski County (maybe Raceland and Madison Central, but don't quote me on that), but two of the teams backed out to play other games. That left Danville and Pulaski but not enough time to get two more teams, so they're playing each other twice, although I'm certain that wasn't the original plan.

Pulaski comes into the matchup 0-1 with a lot of momentum from a loss. Coach Burns first game saw them take the lead with 3 minutes left against 2A favorite Beechwood but miss the PAT which proved to be the point that cost them in the end. Pulaski was led with a balanced attack from Kasen Brock and Ethan Idelwine on the ground while Zak Anderson made plays with his arm and his legs. Momentum is high for the Maroons after their showing and they look to get their first win in Coach Burns' new era.

Meanwhile, Danville is coming off of a 34-7 setback to East Jessamine. Danville hasn’t won a game since November 4th 2022 and things don't look to be trending up. Most saw the East Jess game as their only shot to right the ship this season. I know that Bate has some solid talent in the middle school, but that won't help till a few years down the road.

Is there anyway Danville can right the ship? Or does Pulaski County get the victory?

Danville's administrators, former and current, have proven time and again that they are incapable of getting out of their own way. The current state of their once-great football program is simply the cows coming home to roost. I feel for the families in the school system, and even moreso for the kids.

That school district needs to conduct some serious house-cleaning and go through some significant rehiring before they can expect to see much notable change.

Here's hoping the football team gets one win this year...but this week ain't gonna be it. They best hold out hope that they can pull something off against Knox Central or Leslie County. But if you use their performances against East Jessamine from last year (34-27) and this year (34-7) as a barometer, it sure looks like the ship is listing hard.

Just one minor fix to the end of your statement.  Danville lost 34-27 to West Jessamine last year, not East.

Thank you for all you do for all of the local schools and varying sports.

The game has been moved to Centre College.  Some stadium problems.

According to the radio, the issue at the stadium was a water leak.

Pulaski receives to start the game.

Pulaski brings the return to their 21 yard line.

Pulaski drive begins at their 21 yard line.

1st & 10 - Kasen Brock runs it 79 yards to the house for a TOUCHDOWN.  Flag is thrown for a block in the back, which brings the ball back to the Ads 49 yard line.  But it will be 1st & 10 there.
