16thBBall Fan Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Final. A great win for Iowa Caitlin Clark was just too good tonight. Reese was not the same after tweaking her ankle in the 2nd quarter but I don't think it would have mattered the way Clark had it going tonight. She had 41 points with 12 assists her only negative was she had 5 turnovers but as a coach when you are responsible for over 65 of your teams 90 points you can accept the 5 turnovers. lol LSU placed 4 players in double figures lead by Flaujae Johnson with 20 and Maikaylah Williams with 18. Angel Reese had 17 points and 20 rebounds. 1
16thBBall Fan Posted April 2, 2024 Author Posted April 2, 2024 Iowa will take on the UConn and USC winner at 9:00pm on Friday, April 5th in the Final 4 at Cleveland. 1
Tranquility Base Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Iowa was just a little better tonight. Clark showed up big in, to date, the biggest game of this tourney. 2
Jumper_Dad Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Iowa's speed in the full court was the difference in my opinion. They got so many easy scores just by pushing the ball up court and out running LSU.
Tranquility Base Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Keeping Hailey Van Lith on Clark to the tune of 41 points didn't seem like such a good idea. 2

Kim Mulkey sure didn't give HVL any help at all and it was so obvious that she needed some. Caitlin Clarke is just something special. Her shooting is awesome, but her ability to push the ball up the court with her vision and longer passes is equally impressive.
MJAlltheWay24 Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 I like Flau'jae Johnson's game. She's tough. 3
Voice of Reason Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 I hesitate to post this in the face of all the hype. I watched most of the second half last night. Clark is fun to watch, but I just do not connect with women's college nor professional basketball. I can't even tell you what it is. I just don't enjoy it like I do men's basketball. Sorry for the interruption. Let the hype continue. 2
Hatz Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 I watch Clark and kept help thinking she is a "Larry Bird" esque player. Generational level that seems to get bigger, the bigger the game gets.

Mulkey said in her presser that “we didn’t guard. And didn’t guard last year when we won”. Makes me think she was content to let Clark get hers and hope to shut down the role players. But the role players stepped up this time around. 1
Tranquility Base Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Record 12.3 Million tuned in for the game last night. https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/I'd/39862514/iowa-lsu-rematch-shatters-tv-ratings-record-123m-viewers I hope the NCAA has people working full-time to find ways to harness this energy and use it to rocket forward into the future. 1

Anything that allows them to generate an interest because they see other women excelling makes me interested. #GirlDad

I think it is great to see the interest being generated. My comment above is purely from a personal entertainment perspective.
