Statsdontlie Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Boyle got outplayed, outcoached, just got beat down.

Pretty embarrassing showing for them but give credit to Pulaski, too. Pulaski showed toughness and a will to win on their floor. Nobody come in here and say "Well football!" Yada, yada. Bottom line is that Boyle has supreme athleticism and talent but none of that matters if the guys on the other side just punch you right in the mouth from the jump. I've been critical of Boyle's coaching all year but I thought he had a great gameplan vs DCA; they looked unprepared and disinterested this evening. I don't get it. 2

Well that athleticism came to an end tonight because I was told Demauriah Brown and Montavin Quisenberry will not be playing basketball next year and will enroll in college once Football is over. 1

DevilMayCare Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Head scratcher for Boyle after playing Pulaski tough the last time they met and snatching a district title a few days ago. Fraley's got a good thing going with the Maroons. They've now made the 12th Region semis eight years running.

I've heard the same. Glad it's consistent!

QueenoftheSouth Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 I can’t believe this score. Unreal. I kept thinking all year that Boyle would get it done. Just based on their roster. When you look at what could’ve/should’ve been for Boyle the last couple years, especially this year. Just wow. They were .500 last year and a game under this year, with first round exits both years. That’s hard to explain given the talent on those rosters. On the other side, as was pointed out, Coach Fraley’s teams are consistently getting it done. And watching them play, it is evident that they are well coached in every aspect of the game. Hats off to them and that program. 1

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Brock Driver added to this list as well. I know he isn’t the level of those two but nonetheless. 1

That’s an easy excuse that people like to throw out there as a generalization, and it’s true at times. Yes, the Boyle staff has definitely made the mistake of playing a few good football players the past couple seasons over more skilled basketball players. But that doesn’t apply to Brown and Quisenberry. They are very good basketball players. Skilled, not just athletic. I watched Mercer play the first game tonight. What would they look like if they had one of them? Or both? I’m sure Mercer’s coach would love the chance. 3
12th Region Fan Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Impressive win for the maroons. Coach Fraley had his team locked in from the tip. It also should be noted that Pulaski had a starter go down within the first two minutes, and he never returned. Makes the win that much better.

It seems that every good Boyle County team since 2014 has had at least one really good shooter. Hagan Tyler, Bryce Slone, Luke Imfeld. This team had some athletes but they were average shooters and streaky. That will lead to a sub .500 season.
