Record: 11-2

The Dawgs entered postseason play as 6A's top ranked team, but uneven performances in the first two rounds preceded a quarterfinal loss to Frederick Douglass, ending Male's run of five consecutive appearances in the state finals.

2024 Outlook

Go ahead and pencil the Dawgs in as contenders, because Chris Wolfe's program commands that level of respect. Male will feature one of the state's best - and biggest - offensive lines, blocking for one of 6A's best backs (Burton). The 'big school' field will be crowded, with everyone chasing Trinity. Where the Dawgs fall in the pack largely depends on developing a quarterback to replace Smith, who accounted for nearly all pass attempts and yards, as well as every touchdown pass. They'll be as green as a summer lawn behind center, but someone needs to emerge to get the ball to Antonio Harris, Male's most dynamic playmaker.

He coached there. Originally from Mayfield. Played at Murray State.

Already looking forward to the Male vs BG Scrimmage.  

They didn't get to last year due to JCPS issues.

JCPS to vote on bussing plan at next meeting in March and they may eliminate bussing to schools like Male since they aren't a resides school so possibly kids that require bussing won't be there. Possibly making them a 5A enrollment school playing in 6A. Stay tuned to see how this plays out.

JCPS board voted to cut bussing to traditional schools so not sure what impact will be but Male will lose some students due to this.
