January 22, 200719 yr Now, Aikman never put up numbers like Manning has in the NFL, but he did win 3 Super Bowls and was much better in the clutch and spotlight than what Peyton has been or ever will be. He won those Superbowls, but really couldn't the 'boys have gotten just about anyone to hand the ball to Emmitt.
January 22, 200719 yr here's my take...I truly feel Peyton's real pressure is now over....I think he rolls (aka Steve Young) in Super Bowl XLI.....I also feel they motor through next year as well...then Peyton can coast to retirement and go down in the Top 3 of all time.
January 22, 200719 yr I don't think Peyton has ever won a title, right? And that's from high school to now. There is still a very good chance we get a new level Manning face in 2 weeks...
January 22, 200719 yr ^ Peyton has never won a title in ANY sport, and ANY level. Actually from what I have read, NO Manning has.

January 22, 200719 yr How can you be that good and never have won a title, at any age? That's pretty hard to believe. Where's Jim Schue?
January 22, 200719 yr He proved tonight that he is one of the best ever! The Colts defense has been bad in the past and their kickoff team almost cost them tonight. To come out banged up down that much against arguably the best franchise ever solidifies Manning is the real deal in my book! If he wins it all then that is icing on the cake. One of the best games ever! You couldn't ask for much more! Heck 3 different linemen scored TD's!!!! Wow you all better hope the Colts win in the super bowl, because if they lose to the very average bears then the choke calls will be back out. Yeah he finally got past the afc championship, but that dont mean anything if you dont win the big game... For the record I do think the Colts and Manning will get the super bowl ring this year...But also for the record I still would take Brady over Manning...

January 22, 200719 yr AFC Title Sounds a lot like winning a HS semi final. I believe he was 3-0 in those games...
January 22, 200719 yr Manning took a huge step against his nemesis, but if he blows it in Miami the saga will continue. No one has said the he wasn't a "great" quarterback. The knock was "he can't win the big one". He still hasn't. He won a pretty big one, but not the big one. I think he would agree.
January 22, 200719 yr I am a big Manning fan and I could care less about him winning the big one or not. The Colts special teams kept giving up great field position to Hobbs which put NE in field goal range almost 2 plays later. I think the Colts will win in Miami and by more than 10 points. CO COLTS!!! Anyone see the play where the NE receiver ( his name escapes me ) was wide open before the snap and when they threw it to him he still dropped it?? Thats when I knew that Indy had a great chance to win the game when stuff like that happens.
January 22, 200719 yr All I saw was a SEC QB vs. Big 10 QB. :thumb: (and a michigan qb at that! :madman: :fight: :irked: ) I'm glad Peyton moves on. Peyton is a great quarterback. The 2nd half rally was tremendous. I'm glad that he got to SB #41. :thumb: But Peyton was as nervous as can be on the sideline during the Pats last drive. He knew that it might be too little too late for him and his team. Tom Brady punched Peyton's Superbowl ticket for him, pure and simple. I think most fans thought Brady was 1 minute away from becoming immortal. :sssh:

The Bears beat the Seahawks who were in the Super Bowl last year and drilled the most exciting team in football. I don't think they are getting the credit they deserve. I'm not sold on Grossman yet but they can run the ball, they have outstanding speed on defense and they have the best return man in the game!
