January 23, 200719 yr I think you are mistaking my posts for something someone else said. I thought Brady played VERY clutch, but was put in a very tough situation at the end. To drive 80 yards in a minute even with 2 TOs requires a little(lot) luck. I also thought Peyton stepped up in clutch situations to win the game. He also had several good passes dropped. :thumb: I thought both QB's played very good. Manning deserves all the credit he's getting for the way he played and a Colts victory. That's not to say he won the game by himself by any means, but he did a great job. If he's going to get blasted every time they lose a big game, then he absolutely deserves the praise when he plays like he did Sunday and they win. No way you can say it was the Pats defense...the Colt offense has made a lot of defenses look like that over the years...

Plus the DB's for NE made some incredible plays where they were getting their hands betweent he recievers hands yet still going for the ball. The perfect pass and catch are just unguardable.

January 23, 200719 yr Great post! I was begining to think Rex Grossman and Peyton Manning were going to play Super Bowl XLI by their selves. Great relief. Peyton can do this. Peyton can't do that. I am a Peyton Manning/University of Tennessee fan, but to think Manning can win or loose by himself, in the most team oriented sport ever invented, is just silly. How about Harrison? He is on the other side of the completion record. Or, how about Jeff Saturday? The best center in the NFL, maybe the best center ever in the NFL. How about Joseph Addia (sp)? He has gained a few yards rushing/receiving. How about Venitari? One of the best kickers to ever play the game. Team sport period. I agree with you on all accounts except the UT support!! That is the wrong color of Orange for a Ram!!!:lol:

Pats' defense may have relaxed after getting the big lead, letting Indy back into it. But Peyton and Co. still had to make plays, and they did (much to my dismay :madman: ).

I really like Brady and Belichik and the way they go about their business. I felt all week that the Colts were the better team and should win, but you can never count those guys out. I just think the Colts were the better team and they took care of business. The Patriots played about as well as they could have, IMO. Obviously, there were a few mistakes, but overall, they did a great job by giving themselves a chance to win. I was hoping they could keep the game close and win it at the end...and they almost did. If they'd had a little more time, I think they would have, but Peyton did a great job not only leading the Colts to the winning score, but also working the clock and minimizing the time Brady had in the end. I can't fault either team or QB. The Colts struggled early but played great after that and NE played well all game. The best team won. That happens sometimes.

February 5, 200719 yr Peyton has never won a title in ANY sport, and ANY level. Actually from what I have read, NO Manning has. This can now be amended.
February 5, 200719 yr HOF..............LOCKED UP. Man, as much as I hate to admit it, he had HOF locked up probably two years ago.
February 5, 200719 yr I would say Mannin was a sure shot for the HOF but now it's even more of a lock, if that's even possible. He proved he can win the big game and just think all it took was to get rid of Mike Vanderjagt and Edgerrin James!
