The Indianapolis Colts (7-5) travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals (6-6). The Colts are playing some good football as of late winning their last 4 games. All be it against some of the worst teams in the league in the Panthers, Patriots, Bucs, and Titians, but it is the NFL and a win is win. The Bengals come into to this one after a very good win against the 8-3 at the time Jacksonville Jaguars. Their back up quarterback Jake Browning in only his 2nd start was 32/37 for 354 yards and both a rushing and passing touchdown. He had a passer rating of 115.5 and a QBR of 84.0. The Bengals with a win would definitely be right in the middle of the playoff hunt as the Colts are currently the #7 seed in the playoffs. The game is scheduled to kick at 1:00pm and will be on CBS. Go Bengals! WHO DEY!!

Last night was a much needed step in the right direction. I want to see another good performance, it would be hard to replicate that level of success again, but something to show that wasn't just a flash in the pan type of showing.

My fear is that the Colts try to frustrate Browning defensively by not blitzing as much as the Jags did and playing more zone.  The NFL learns quickly from week to week.

I asked a co-worker yesterday, how much of what the Bengals did vs. the Jaguars is maybe easier to defend after dissecting tape? I have no idea about those things.

Bengals success against the Jags was driven by the running game. When Zac commits to the running game, even when they are getting 2 or 3 yards a carry, it leads to success. The Jags defensive strength is getting after the QB. They had to sit on their heels more because of how the Bengals were running it. Then the Bengals had them off rhythm. 

The biggest break in that game for the Bengals was that play where the Jags LB deflected a Browning pass. If the LB doesn't deflect that, it was almost surely an INT. Nobody pointed that out.

I went to a Bengals Colts game a few years ago. Really cold out. I left at halftime and watched the second half in HD TV nice and cozy seated on my LaZBoy .
