I say 2A is Beechwood’s to lose next year. I know it’s a year away but in my mind they are definitely the favorites.

2a will be just like this year with 4 really good teams plus Somerset could be primed to compete next year after a solid season with a very young team. You know LCA will reload, Atwell returns for OB Cath, so they'll be solid and if Mayfield can get decent QB play, they'll be tough again. I wouldn't crown anyone this early.

Bowling Green returns most of their starting lineups.

I'd say in 5A Bowling Green and Cooper/Highlands are the paper favorites to be in it next year.

I would say Bowling Green, Cooper, Owensboro, and maybe South Warren would be the favorites. I know BG, Cooper, and Owensboro return the majority of their teams. I think SW might to but not positive on that. Highlands next year is the wild card to me. Highlands losing all kinds of players from their great team this year. They obviously have a lot of very good young talented players coming up though, and will be probably the favorite in 2025 if I had to guess. So just depends how quickly that younger talent adapts to playing varsity this year, after being great at the JV and Freshman level. If they make that jump quickly, then they will be right in the mix.

Nobody is crowning  Beechwood. But if they stay healthy with everyone coming back they will be tough to beat.

I have been hearing a lot about Murray being very good next year.

Don’t count on that 2nd part. They might be good by Murray standards but they will be irrelevant in the championship discussion.

They'll have some talent and be pretty good. I really like there new coach. He likes to sling it around and get his playmakers in space and making plays. This is completely different from prior coach who believed in grinding it out 3 to 4 yards at a time. I've heard that several of the Calloway Co kids like there new philosophy and could make the move to Murray. If they do, they could be a lot better,

I don’t know much about them to agree or disagree with you on that one: I’m just stating what some Murray and Mayfield people have told me. Is their new coach a Murray grad?

Well said! The best post of the thread.

You have to have Depth to Win a Title. Who in NKY can say they have True Depth? Like if their QB goes down. Can the Backup get the Job done? Last year at Beechwood when Hayden went down, Harney provided that Depth until Hayden came back. Now that Harney is down the Street, does Beechwood have a kid that can step in? Maybe or maybe not.

Now Highlands may not have the best QB in NKY next year because that one resides in Boone Co. but they will have 3 True quality QB's that could lead the team successfully on any Night. That is depth. I really like the Fields kid at Dixie. I think he's actually a better option than Gregg but what a great problem to have. I'm sure I'm missing someone. QB play in NKY has some good ones.

Bottom line......it gets down to line play. If you can't win with the line Highlands had this year it's tough to get it done. In the semis Cooper won the LOS....both sides of the ball.....and that was the game. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of those QBs change addresses this off season.

1A. NCC. Replacing Welch will be tough.

2A. Beechwood coach looking for more money?

3A. Lloyd. Solid.

4A. All CCH in district. Replacing Pitzer, Leen, Rodriguez and Miller is tall ask.  Tough row to hoe in playoffs.

5A will be Cooper then Highlands.  Highlands must replace some talented seniors.

6A will be Ryle.  But playoff road will be littered with better teams than them.
