PT 11-0 | WE 6-5

These two match up for the second time after having played previously on October 13th, only this time, it's at a home game for Tilghman. 

PT won the first game 70-20, but it was a game with Tilghman leading 28-20 with 7:12 left in the 2nd qtr. However, a quarter later at 7:38 left in the 3rd quarter, PT led 56-20 and it was out of reach. 

Jack James had 377 pass yards in the 1st half of that game for PT while Carter had 5 catches for 198 yards, also in that first half. 

Tilghman had a lot of success hitting big plays in that one and will likely take to the air looking for homeruns once again. 

I think this one may stay a little closer and may not snowball like the first time, but Tilghman likely still creates a bit of separation. 

 

The Paducah Middle 8th grade team beat Corbin 58-0 today to make the D2 State Championship game next week. They will take on Boyle County, 18-14 winners over Lexington Catholic. This will be the 3rd title game appearance in a row for the Paducah 8th graders, who have lost the previous two. 

This is relevant to this post just to show how well your feeder programs can translate to the high school level with consistency of their own through play and keeping guys in the program. Coach Thompson's son should be able to log some minutes for PT as a Freshman next season as he is a very good athlete at multiple positions.

He will definitely be a star QB!

If Warren East tries to get in another shootout it’ll be a repeat of what happened in the first meeting between the two teams. PT is good in all three phases of the game but if you had to criticize something I believe you’d point at defending the explosive plays and for the Raiders that has been one of the few good things they have done over the course of the season. 
 

Best case scenario for Warren East is to string together a couple of drives to chew some clock to keep that PT offense off the field for as long as possible, because when their number is called, they’re scoring the ball. I don’t see that happening though, Blue Tornadoes put it on them quick and move onto the 3rd round with ease.

Only question here is do we get another 70+ scoring barrage from the PT O. It's getting to be habitual. Next week is when it gets a lot more challenging.

Is there any truth to the Warren East coaches taunting the PT players before their game?  I didn’t know if anyone could verify that.

From what I was told it was the players taunting the PT players. The locker rooms are in the same hallway with the doors right across from each other,that sounds like a recipe for disaster!

PT names the score. They won’t be challenged until round 4. 

PT wins comfortably.

It is. However, the situation has been highly exaggerated from that game, there were no coaches involved. I don't even know how that got in the translation. It was just kids doing dumb kids things. I don't think, other than extra incentive to win handily, it was much to do about anything.

I just hope PT keeps their head out of the clouds and concentrates on things. Things might seem easy of late but they don't want to wake up when it's too late.
