Did Dalton Tarter play tonight?  If so, how did he do and the Bracken County team as a whole?

It was Beechwood’s “closest” district game this season at 41-0 lol.

I'm sure they are hating having to play half of their games in this district. Hope they are still hitting full cylinder come round 3/4

Tarter played and limped a bit but had a decent game. Bracken didn’t really play to win just limit Beechwood’s possessions. They maybe threw the ball 6-7 times and all but 1 was in the 4th quarter with a running clock against the JV defense. They had 1 long pass in the 2nd quarter but turned over on downs. Beechwood scored every possession except for an interception and the JV offense running out the clock. Brackens  plan worked great but just running it 3 times and punting  just doesn’t cut it against an offense like Beechwood.

Beechwood has a chance to win their district no matter if it’s 1A or 6A in NKY.  Crazy how good they are.  Hoping I can see Beechwood and LCA if it works out that way.

I honestly figured the score would be worse for Bracken. Surprised when I saw it was only 21-0 at the half. I'd have guessed it would be and 2d quarter running clock.

I guess their plan was to just run off as much time as possible.  I'll have to go back and watch.

That was all they did, the ref in charge of the game clock was not even starting the 40 second clock until he had placed the ball and gotten back into position. The 40 second clock is suppose to start when the previous play is whistled dead. It was only a 4 man officiating crew and the back judge was pulling double duty, so in reality Bracken was getting almost a full minute of real clock time to waste in between every play. They snapped the ball at 1 second every play, so if their strategy was to limit possessions for Beechwood, it worked, Beechwood ran 27 plays of offense, but they really weren’t even attempting to run any kind of offense.

I felt like Bracken County was the best district opponent Beechwood faced. I like their line play, and they had a couple other good backs in addition to Tarter. I was impressed with Tarter. Runs hard, good speed. If Bracken could find a way to have some positive passing plays, they could give someone a surprise in the playoffs. Although that loss to Owen County raises some big question marks for me. I don't see how that happened.

I’m still trying to figure out how they lost that game too. I predicted them to be that #2 seed.

If I am looking at it right, Bracken County might not even make the playoffs. Do they use RPI now to break ties in district standings? If yes, the RPI battle between Bracken County, Owen County and Walton-Verona for the last two playoff slots is about as close as it can get.

Playing in a weak district hasn't hurt them in the last decade or so....I'm sure they will be just fine. When was the last time Beechwood had a district opponent stay within 4 scores in a game?
