Long standing rivalry that has seen a lot of "bad blood" between the two teams renews itself at War Memorial as Murray comes to town to play the Cardinals. Many across the state are aware of the Mayfield-Paducah Tilghman rivalry, but it is Murray that is most disliked by many Mayfield fans, and for good reason, but I will not go into that. Murray comes in with a top ten RPI ranking in 2A. Will they ruin the night for Mayfield fans by pulling out a victory? Tell us what you think.

All Mayfield, all the time.

No worries for Mayfield this year. The Cardinals just pummeled Crittenden County - who beat Murray,

After the way Murray looked the last couple weeks, this is going to get ugly in a hurry. I know Murray has played well in some of these games, this won't be one.

Mayfield big.

Yep.

Earlier in the season I would have said Murray could put a little pressure on the Cardinals but this one will be all Mayfield! Running clock by halftime.

Running ?‍♂️ clock and give Xavier Biggers a few more touches for this game against his former team...

I agree. Tired of seeing him undervalued and underused. If there was a game to let him go off it would be this one.

Cardinals are huge favorites coming in.  They have ran through their schedule outside of the PT game.  Starks seems like his old self in the last couple of games. Cartwright has been great distributing the ball to the playmakers.  Their defense has been strong all year. Ohh, did I mention: speed kills!! Mayfield has fast kids all over the field.

Murray seems like they can't get out of their own way.  In the two loses, the Tigers have managed 10 turnovers. Union (3) Crittenden (7), respectively.  Even the game vs McCracken, they still had 4 turnovers.  Their defense have been playing well all year but has lived against the ropes all season long. Jones (ATH '25) had his first start at QB this past week and had a slow start.  He looked well in the 2nd half on their way to a 27-7 win.

Murray has given the Cardinals fits the last couple of years.  Couple years ago, Tigers lost to Caldwell the week before beating the Cardinals.  Could it happen again??

Mayfield is expected to win.  I see this game being competitive as long as Murray doesn't turn the ball over. If the Tigers continue with their turnovers, it could get ugly quickly.

3 weeks ago I thought this would be a close game.

Mayfield running clock.

Mayfield, it want be close!

Mayfield got the ball 1st and after an onside kick by Murray, started at midfield, 5 plays later, the Cards ran it in from 3 yards out. xp good 7-0 Mayfield.

Murray got the kickoff out to there own 17 yard line and went 3 and out. Mayfield got a great return all the way to the Tiger 13. They ran it in on the 1st pay to make the score 14-0 Cards

After swapping punts, the 1st quarter ends with Murray having the ball 4th and 5 from the Cardinal 43. still 14-0 Cards
