Greenwood defense hasn’t allowed a touchdown this season. Three kick off returns is the only points they have gave up.  This game will be interesting

Who said anything about iron curtain?

Agreed. This will be Greenwood's only test before district play begins.

Hopkinsville is a shell of their former selves, East is just OK, Logan is just OK, Warren Central is, well, Warren Central.

Correct. Also of note, six teams on Greenwood's schedule are in a lower class with several of them 3A and 2A. And we aren't talking about powerhouses.

They seem to always schedule this way..

Shocked they even scheduled East again after going 2-2 against them over a four year period the last time they played consistently. I get it though. Drop one of those games and the season looks quite dim. Might as well ride the high until you play someone that matters.

They played Bardstown last year as their premier out of district game, lost said game, then immediately dropped them.

They went 1-1 against Glasgow over the past two seasons, I guess one loss to the Scotties was enough to drop them too.

Chances are if OCath wins, you won't be seeing them on the Gators' schedule after the cycle is complete.

Sure, there may have been a scheduling conflict here and there, but seems like awfully convenient timing to me.....

Yeah, there are teams that have caught on to this type of scheduling. You can schedule stats and wins. Nothing wrong with it, but it deludes any consideration for the team to get too much praise until they are seen going up against comparable teams.

This should be a really fun game.  I think a lot of folks underrate Owensboro Catholic a little bit.  If LCA doesn't get finger tips on that Atwell pass on the last play of the game last season, who knows where this team would have gone?  I hope I don't jinx the kid but for my money, Brady Atwell is a top 5 QB in the state.  He hasn't faced much competition this year, but the next 3 weeks should be a good test with Greenwood, Owensboro and Henderson coming up.  If the Aces can find a way to run the table in those games, their RPI should be at the top of 2A which would be a great feather in the cap come playoff time.  Coach Morris has almost abandoned the run game in favor of a quick pass attack and Owensboro Catholic has a ton of weapons.  Tutt Carrico, Duce Sims, Noah Rhinerson and Warren Eblhar are a tremendous stable of WR's.  Miles Edge and Eli Blair can also catch the ball out of the backfield.  I am looking forward to seeing how they hold up against a very solid 5A program tonight.

On the defensive side, I would say this group is somewhat untested thus far.  Their run defense has looked stellar thru the scrimmage season and the first two weeks, but I do not think they have faced anyone with a front like they will see tonight.  Vince Carrico is a fun kid to watch at MLB.  I think the DB's could be a weakness but no one they have played have been able to attack them as of yet.  I do think Greenwood will have some success offensively tonight.

At the end of the day, I will take Atwell as the best player on the field to make enough plays to get the win. Owensboro Catholic 28-21.

Rule 2 reads in part:

2. No disparaging, taunting, or boastful comments--especially between opponents trying to intimidate each other. This includes, name calling or personal attacks toward any member, username, team, or school. Additionally this includes a pattern of posts that inflames or incites other posters (i.e. trolling or gaslighting).

This is the first "test" for both teams.  Greenwood seems to be a team heading in the right direction. I don't know much about them other than they are a physical team.  I don't think many people thought they would handle W East so easy.

OCath is set to prove they belong in the top tier of 2A.  The Aces seem to be dubbed as a finance team with their typical air raid but ran for over 100 yards in each of their first two games.  Atwell is coming along very well throwing over 300+ yards per game. In the past, they have had issues matching physical teams.

I think OCath wins 28-14 or 35-21 and stamps itself as a contender in 2A.

I'm not sure how to take this information. I guess good for the defense (although three possible drives didn't happen), but that's not great for special teams.

It’s horrible for special teams they may won’t to kick it out of bounds.  Just stating it will be interesting to see how their defense holds up again OC which people on here are saying have a good team.

The "not so special" teams.

Both teams were VERY good last year.  I believe both are stout.  It will be interesting to see how this plays out and which team slows the game.  Great QB in Atwell.  He is a load.  Hope no injuries and a great game.
