Conner Head Coaching Position

Featured Replies

I just dont think the time is right for Coach Yeagle to come back to Coaching. If it were, noone would be more qualified. Even if he bombed an interview, his credentials would not be matched. Let's think about it, who would you want for your football program - a guy that has won 7 or 8 state championships or some other coach?

You can't bomb an interview, if you didn't have one. But he did apply.

6 interviewed and he was not one of the six.

I'm not aware of the other candidates, but isn't Trosper the guy most people in "Cougarville" wanted?

^ Not sure about that.

Then why did they not interview him?

Then why did they not interview him?

Other than the fact that it is winter-time with nothing to do but discuss trivial issues such as this, why does it really matter? The powers-that-be read the qualifications of those that submitted - whoever they may be; interviewed the candidates they wanted to interview; and selected the person they felt was best for the job. That person is Coach Trosper.

This process is now over, so whatever happened during the submittal and interview process is history with no more relevance to the Conner situation. It is easy for those of us that are on the outside looking in to "armchair quarterback" the situation. We do a fantastic job of that on this site as that is the intent of 'Ru's brainchild.

The fact is Coach Trosper is the new coach. We here in Hebron now need to unite behind him as has been mentioned in earlier posts. We certainly can't expect the young men that are a part of the team to do this if we as adults can't lead by example. Speculation for this position along with all other "coulda, shoulda, woulda's" is over. Covington Catholic is a prime candidate to speculate about for the new focus of those of us with time on our hands (myself included).

WELCOME TO HEBRON , COACH TROSPER!!!!!! GO COUGARS!!!!!!!!!!

First, congatulations to Dave. I think that this is a good fit for Dave's style of coaching. Second, to all the nay sayers out there. Do not Judge what the record was at Holmes. Until you have been there coached there, walk a mile in that man's cleats DO NOT CRITICIZE. Trosper's style did not fit s a head coach at Holmes. He will bring a lot more to Conner than most of you think. I coached with and for him at Holmes and if he asked me to come to Conner and help I would be there tomorrow. I don't think there is a harder school to coach at anywhere in NKY Than Holmes. ANY sport. TRUST ME. I for one will be rooting for Trosper's success. I know that he deserves better than what he managed at Holmes. Remember , Judge not the man until you have walked in his mocassins.

Props to you for supporting your coach. This is why the questions were asked. I did not mean to be negative. I was just asking questions. I dont know where he coached prior to Holmes, either. I have heard that he coached college, too, and that is a plus! I wish Conner the best of luck with their program. I am new to the board and not very familiar with northern ky football. From the replies, it sounds like conner fans are fired up to move on with their program. More discussion has been geared towards Yeagle on this thread and that is partly my fault. COngrats to them and their new hire!

KY1234-

My post perhaps seemed as though I was directing it toward you which is not the case at all. Yours just happened to be the one I quoted to begin the post. I've had 2 sons come through the Conner program during the better days of the program a few years ago. Coach Stellman is a good friend of mine as are all of the previous assistant coaches. I know how the community can be sometimes as well as the BGP community. During this time of year we can be like a pack of vultures. It just seemed to me that now was the time to move on to another topic and welcome Coach Trosper to Hebron. I meant no offense toward you.

You need to continue with your probing questions as they have definitely created interesting conversations here on BGP. We all rarely agree on anything on here anyway, so after a number of years, I'm used to it. For the most part, the people who post a lot are at least respectful, so if I've seemed less than that toward you with my post I publicly apoligize to you.

First of all, congrats Coach Trosper and good luck.

I think the questions and discussions are fair because there are so many unknowns and the rest of us would like to know how the process worked and what coaches Coach Trosper beat out and then we can hopefully put the strange hire comments to rest.

doubledeuce stated Yeagle applied twice but was not one of the six interviewed. So in addition to Coach Trosper there were five other interviews, who were those five coaches?
