I believe Beechwood’s freshman team is comprised of 8th and 9th grade.  So by canceling a freshman  game instead and potentially moving those kids up to JV it would be sophomores/juniors for Highlands vs mostly 8th and 9th for Beechwood.  If that is the case then Beechwood made the right call.  This is what I have at least heard. Someone from Beechwood would have to confirm.

I'm pretty sure 8th graders cannot compete against Juniors in Football. So if Highlands was planning on playing any juniors in the JV game, Beechwood's 8th graders would not be able to participate.

You are completely missing what people are telling you. There was NO ADDITIONAL game added. Freshman football has always gone all the way up until the last week of the varsity regular season. Then onc

No the Colonels do not know that at all.  Better teams win, period.  Yes, it is that simple, cut, and dry.  Good teams don’t lose and don’t make excuses for losing.  When you lose, you lose because yo

5 of the 9 northern Kentucky football programs that field exclusively freshman teams only get to play 9 games this season. The other 4 managed to successfully schedule 10 games. Think about all the ti

I'm not 100% correct, and I am sure someone else here knows better, but I believe there are a handful of Juniors that play JV for the Birds.

It was meant as a joke. After all the hubbub between the Highlands/CovCath freshman game.

Beechwood cancelled all JV games. Decided to keep freshmen at the freshman level and there is not enough depth on varsity for JV games without playing freshmen on JV.

Correct - it became a game of balancing quarters each week.  Also assuming JV will be needed down varsity stretch based on schedule after CCH.

That is correct. Beechwood only dresses 9th graders for JV because of this rule.  Most schools have sophomores and juniors playing JV.

Hmmm.. Why does Beechwoods sophomore class lack number's? I'm confused by that!

It happens about every 5 years at Beechwood. Guys decide to focus on one sport and/or low numbers in a class.

If Beechwood has canceled a JV season in the past that's news to me , I know kids focusing onother sports isn't the reason,  the low class numbers.. maybe , but that was their own doing ?

If I’m correctly picking up what you’re putting down, does that mean there is an excessive number of freshmen?

That should be sophomores,  playing JV.. What has taken place is fine but don't make other teams suffer by having to find replacement games or worse.. not being able to find a game at all. Suck it up and make it happen. They can play Freshman and JV

What's more dangerous?? A Freshman playing another Freshman who should be a Sophomore or Freshman whos supposed to be a Sophomore who's probably got a couple years in the weightroom playing a JR in JV that might see limited Varsity reps the remainder of their career and Sophomores that have the same experience as them?
