Reds vs. Brewers (7/7-7/9 & 7/14-7/16 & 7/24-7/26)

I guess as much as it pains me to say this at least they made the record books for this 3 game skid.

The Reds are the 1st team in at least 130 years with 0 Runs & less than 8 Hits in a 3-game span.

Seriously though it is sad that the Reds have wasted 3 of their better pitching performances in these last 3 games as well.

Votto 3 run HR!! There is a lot of fun and things to enjoy with these Reds right now. For me, the return of Joey Votto is at the top of the list. I love watching him hit.

I’ve been telling my better half all seasons- “just wait until the pitching comes around - then we’ll see something”.

It's just baseball. The Reds will be fine. The Brewers have owned the NL Central all year, but the new schedule format this year really helps the Reds out because we won't see them but one more time this year.

Bad baseball today is going to cost the Reds. Walk the leadoff hitter in the 8th; try to throw out the runner tagging at 3rd from deep center (ZERO chance) and let the runner on first get to second; Fraley misplays the ball on a hit to right, caught in between hops, takes 4 steps and still tries throw the man out at home. Multiple misplays and now the Reds are down by a run in the 8th.

The Reds definitely showed signs of feeling the pressure in this series. Arguing a lot of ball and strike calls. Trying to do too much. That is always a problem in big games. Players think they have to do more and they really need to just do what they have been doing and trust each other.

And I am thankful to be frustrated in this way. Never expected the team to be competing for a division title. The Reds are young and still learning. New experiences. Being challenged at a higher level. This is why I am reluctant to mortgage any piece that has future value to rent a player for this year. This team is ahead of the curve and not ready for prime time yet.

Yes, really bad/dumb play by Friedl, game should’ve been tied!!!  Shew, they have looked just AWFUL these last 4 games!!

Today was the one game in this series they certainly looked bad. The first two games are what post season level baseball looks like. You face top notch pitchers and the hits and runs get difficult to find. It happens to the best teams every year in post season games.

Today was a different story. It feels like they gave one away today.

This series was exactly what I was afraid might happen after the All Star break.  The Reds didn't look like they did in June, not once this weekend.

WCPO posted a picture of the game from Saturday, this one is sweet.

Even our stud closer comes in walking people.

And the #8 hitter walked by Diaz on 4 pitches leading off the 9th scores to win the game for the Brewers.

Two of the three runs scored by the Brewers got on base via walks.

We were fortunate to keep the Brewers at three runs considering we had eight walks last night.

The Reds have to figure out how to hit this team and manufacture some runs.

Hard to pitch with two hands around your own throat.
