I saw that Lance posted from the Umpire Scorecard site.  By their calculations, the plate ump's missed calls attributed to a +2 run difference in the game last night.  Bad umpiring seems to be getting worse with the better spin rates that pitchers are putting on the ball.

The Reds are getting the rookie treatment on balls and strikes. Every night there are multiple calls that are just bad.

It's time to go to the automated ball/strike method and eliminate error.  I picture Rosie the maid from the Jetsons.

Reds win tonight 4-3 and cut the Brewer back down to .5 in the NL Central.

Thank goodness that Benson tagged on 2 runs with that homer in the 9th.

Yelich has killed the Reds this month, another big hit in the 9th tonight nearly brought them back.

He's been fantastic in July.

 

However, how nice was it to see Richie Cunningham outduel Cy Young?  Love it.

Last night showed Krall needs to deal for bullpen help now. Don’t wait until the deadline.

Brewers win the final regular season match up of the year 3-0.   Seems like Milwaukee is becoming the new Cardinals.   Can beat everyone else, but have trouble with the Brewers.   Still only 1.5 out with a decent schedule.   Still go to LA for the weekend and then trips to the Angels, Dbacks and Giants near the end of August.   If they can not get killed on the west coast swings, they should be in decent shape for a WC or better.

Brewers pitching has been dominant against the Reds these last 3 series. Unnaturally so, makes me question if they are doing something shady.

Last 7 games vs Brewers Reds have given up 18 runs in 60 innings, that’s a 2.70 era and they are 1-6 in those 7 games!!!

Also, since May 25 Reds are 3-10 vs Brewers and 32-9 vs EVERYBODY ELSE!!!!  Wow!!!
